Co-creation helps you propel your network where you expand with the right people. Collaboration is a well-used term, we put it into action this week. Two communities came together, in Bath (on Thursday), to recognise that we’re great with those we’re familiar with, but can it work with others who share the same mindset but not as attached? I believe it can. This is what I am learning from a new world of co-community events: 🤔 Be Clear Of Why You Want To Do It?  If you approach with the idea of what you can take for yourself, you’ll only be disappointed. 👊 Find The Right Collaborator  When you find a partner with a common ground, you give value and you get the value back. 🍦Embrace An Open Idea Exchange  When you work with others on new ideas, you have to be willing to experiment as a team and not stick rigidly to previous incarnations. 🍰 You Don’t Need To Go ‘All In’ At The Start  When starting a new initiative, it’s filled with opportunity, but you’re still stepping into a new arena as a novice. That’s ok 🏆 Learning & Contribution Can Be From Those Involved  It shouldn’t be all on you, but a willingness to let others speak up, join in and shape ideas. This helps create an enriching experience. Loved spending time with John Espirian and the Espresso team this week as well as the You Are The Media squadron ❤️. In the world of collaboration, the whole is greater than the sum of its parts.

I am doing writing exercises, so buckle up :) (context in the original post - not clickbait, but I am sharing opportunities from both organizers and ticket buyers perspective so separate-ish) Event fam with who're producing these big tent industry events with wide topic coverage - my two cents. If your event attendees are on small teams, but only one or two titles coming through, it may be worth exploring opportunities to provide value to other members of their team. What does an integrated, cost effective, "team retreat" experience look like for your event? Turn 1 attendee into 4 or 10(!)? There is an opportunity - one that may have been tried and failed plenty of times, but it can't ALWAYS fail, right? Lean into the package pricing for teams. Diversify your content and engagement strategies for the top 4-5 titles most commonly seen on these teams, nurture sub communities within your attendees based on responsibilities on the ground level of a business. Create the space, be smart about programming and scheduling, and you create a completely unique, but clearly integrated experience between the teams on their retreats and you, their host, in ways that capitalize on what already exists with your primary event. Your event might be the setting of their favorite team story. The margin might be a bit tighter on this type of experience for 5-10% of ticket holders, but guest count, floor time, and face time are meaningful metrics for vendors and these groups of attendees are in go-mode. Also - go slow and don't wreck your event by leaning to hard into this to quickly. Respect what you've got working for you. And let the folks who want to piggyback piggyback in peace if they so chose :-)
