Our first Annual Associate Wellness Fair was a hit! Associates took a break from their day-to-day work to learn about our health benefits, sign up for local fitness sessions, sip smoothies, relax with a chair massage, win prizes, enjoy a nutritious lunch, and discover ways the company is here to promote and support all of us living a more “Healthfull Life”. Thank you to the hundreds of associates who participated, the amazing Wellness Team who organized the events, and all of our Wellness Partners who made this possible: FITNESS SF, Barry's, Crunch Fitness, SoulCycle Inc., Tyler Washington, Exubrancy, a Tishman Speyer company, Cigna Healthcare Americas (EAP & Medical), MetLife, Delta Dental of California, VSP Vision Care, Charles Schwab and Kaiser Permanente.

Creating a culture of wellness takes intentionality and time. As a wellness tech company, BetterYou strives to walk the walk and create unique ways for our team to find time in the day for their health. One area we do this is through instituting a Summer Four Day Work Week. From Memorial Day (5/27) to Labor Day (9/2), BetterYou team members work four days per week. This is our third summer with this policy in effect. Here’s what we discovered the past two: 1) People feel happier and more effective when they have an extra day to enjoy summer time each week (especially with a majority of team members in Minnesota where warm weather is so fleeting) 2) Continuing to hit weekly goals required finding ways to be more intentional with how we spend our time such as blocking deep work times and creating & sticking to top priorities each week 3) We were able to maintain our target goal attainment metrics to move the company forward Time is our most valuable resource - how will you spend yours this summer? 🤔☀

Executive level business support specialist working with charities and small business entrepreneurs. Values driven and passionate about supporting, empowering and connecting. Rurally based in South Staffordshire.
Yesterday, I read this post by ⭐Jo Plimmer⭐ and could instantly relate to it. Event organising can taker its toll on even the most seasoned planner as we try and juggle multiple commitments and looming deadlines. I'll be completely honest, that whilst I am hyper organised and used to dealing with a number of spinning plates, i'm feeling quite jaded right now. This week is busy with work and in the run up to hubby's operation, i'm trying to do as much as possible for mum as I will be unable to be there as much as I am normally. Intermingled with all this is a 'To Do' list from hell, a poorly duck (the joys of a smallholding) and trying to squeeze some time in for me........ Self care is a difficult one for me, but I do try and build in some small actions to help me: 1) Every night in bed, I do a meditation or sleepcast on my Headspace App as I struggle to switch off 2) I've started doing Yinfusion with Gail Cooper ~ The Crystal Yogi (along with my border collie) and find the blend of meditation, yoga, crystal healing and reiki really helps me to power down in an evening 3) I am working with Sarah Platt - Social Media Manager, Marketing Specialist and along with the rest of the small businesses in the group, we meet online regularly for some focused co-creation sessions - these are really helping me to shut out other distractions and focus on my business. 4) My Microsoft 'To Do' App is my lifeline and I am always noting down tasks when they pop into my head, so I don't dwell on them at that time (it's usually in the middle of the night). And if all else fails......... I make a cup of tea down, walk down the field and chat to the hens...... 🐔 🐔 🐔
Make Time For You - Podcast - FREE Group Talks - Pop-Up Wellness Festivals - Make Time For You @ Work
I was more noticeable by my absence than my presence on here last week. I'm not going to lie, the run up to the Pop-Up Wellness Festival (The Business Growth Edition) took it's toll. It wasn't just the event itself - I actually loved organising that! But it was fitting it in amongst all the other things I do. I knew at Christmas it was going to be a hard push up to the event. And I was very conscious of trying to maintain time for myself and ensure I had practices in place to help me look after myself, and lower the stress hormones that would inevitably be floating around my system as a result of having so much on. And I was really proud of how well I did this. But eqaully, I didn't get the balance quite right. It's one of the many lessons I learnt from doing this event, and one of the things I need to address going forward to make my workload sustainable, whilst still striving to achieve the things I want to achieve. I have so many people to thank for all their support and incredible contributions to the event, so I will be doing that over the coming days. So now I have thoroughly rested from it, I am looking forward to getting back to posting on here once again ☺️ After I eat cake that is...it's my birthday today! 🥳🎂😋

🎄✨ Season’s Greetings from the Office! Embracing the Warmth of the Festive Season It’s that time of the year when the office corridors sparkle a little brighter, and every corner hums with holiday tunes. The festive season brings more than just decorations; it brings us closer, turning colleagues into a family celebrating together. Here’s how the holiday cheer is making a heartwarming difference in workplaces: 1. Decor That Tells Stories: Beyond the twinkling lights and the tinsel, every ornament has a story, often shared over a cup of coffee or a hearty laugh during a lunch break. 2. Shared Moments of Joy: Secret Santa isn’t just about exchanging gifts; it’s about the smiles, the guesses, and the shared anticipation. It’s a reminder of the thoughtful bonds we share. 3. Festive Feasts and Tales: Potluck lunches turn into a festival of flavors and stories. It’s not just about the food; it’s about the tales behind each dish, bringing us all closer. 4. Music That Connects Us: Those holiday tunes aren’t just background music; they’re a chorus we all hum to, sometimes breaking into an impromptu sing-along, filling the office with laughter and melody. 5. A Time for Reflection and Appreciation: As we look back at the year, it’s the collective triumphs and challenges we remember. It’s a season of thanking those who stood by us, in deadlines and celebrations alike. This festive season is more than just a series of days on the calendar; it’s a celebration of togetherness, of the human connections that make our workplace not just an office, but a community. How is the holiday spirit brightening up your workplace? #FestiveOffice #HolidayCheer #WorkplaceCommunity #SeasonsGreetings #OfficeFamily

As the holidays approach, and people are organizing holiday parties, it's a great time to think about accessibility! Over at Ask A Manager, today, Alison Green answers a question about how to get out of going to holiday parties that aren't accessible. https://lnkd.in/eQAk9HRw "If [your boss] pushes anyway, try saying, 'If we can do it at a venue that’s more accessible, I’d be glad to come. I know it’s probably too late for this year, but maybe we can look at that for next year.'" Hopefully lots of folks are still in the party-planning stages, so we want to encourage everyone to start with accessibility, rather than trying to negotiate conversations about how to fix accessibility issues later on. You want everyone to be able to come, and feel comfortable, included, and welcome. Regardless of which holiday is your favorite, using these parties to create community is part of all of them. (Btw, we highly recommend Allison's Ask A Manager blog for ongoing reading. Super helpful for neurodiverse people needing ongoing professional development in understanding office activities!) #Accessibility #HolidayParty #Holidays

Our lives are often woven tightly with our work, blurring the lines between office space and a second home. Within these walls, our coworkers become our family. The holiday season arrives, draped in the warmth of family gatherings, and it's customary for companies to orchestrate Christmas festivities and gatherings. I understand the excitement and importance behind these events. It's a chance to share the captivating spirit, unwind after a demanding year, and foster connections within the team. Yet, why confine this spirit to a once-a-year celebration? Shouldn't this camaraderie and enthusiasm be a perennial feature? Employees thrive on continuous appreciation and recognition. They perform well—acknowledge their efforts. Facing an issue—extend a caring ear. Feeling off—allow a day of rest. Because, at the core, we are all humans, struggling with our share of challenges, emotions, and personal battles. Sometimes, acknowledging this and offering a warm beverage and a heartfelt conversation can make all the difference. What holiday office activities do you cherish most? #ChristmasCheerAllYear #TeamUnity #SupportiveCulture
