Canadian cleantech companies play a key role in driving innovation in support of Canada’s climate change goals. Supporting their important work is critical to positioning Canada competitively in the global market for clean technologies and creating a sustainable future for all Canadians. Recently, our Industrial Research Assistance Program (NRC IRAP) and Innovate BC announced research and development funding for 13 companies in British Columbia that are piloting cleantech projects as part of an effort to support the development of a greener B.C. and bolster the province’s cleantech sector. This funding is supported through the BC Fast Pilot program, a joint initiative between NRC IRAP and Innovate BC. HEIs can positively impact regional and Europe-wide social and economic development through education, research and engagement.
