Executive Customer Success & Strategy Leader Focused on Client Services, Project Management, Team Development, & Impactful Relationship Building
There are a lot of great candidates out there for employers looking to fill Customer Success roles right now. You can afford to be picky, but make sure you are being picky in the right spots. Product knowledge is important, but can be easily picked up. The ability to build relationships, analyze data to identify areas of the business that need to be addressed, and gaining the trust of customers in order to understand their goals and success drivers should be what you really strive for. While this is obviously something I want to get out there for my benefit (like for finding a job!), this is a PSA for everyone in Customer Success. Don't choose a lesser candidate because they already know a product. This will be detrimental in the long run. Choose someone for their CS chops!

A Customer Success Manager has to be more than just a “people person.” When asked why they want to get into CS, many career transitioners have told us “I love relationship building.” Sure, that’s a start… but it’s not enough to become a good #CSM. ______________ When you tell a hiring manager this is your “why,” they may write you off as someone who doesn’t understand the full picture of customer success. Relationships are really only one piece of the equation. You have a people-oriented personality, but how does that really translate to… - Providing an efficient and effective implementation process? - Understanding customer business objectives and outlining a strategy to achieve them? - Proactively checking in to ensure optimal Time-to-Value? Your larger focus should be on driving customer outcomes... Understand customer goals and expectations, develop success plans, identify and address issues and demonstrate value continuously.

Here's your Thursday Tip for Professional Development: Prioritize problem-solving and customer-centric skills. In Managed Field Services, technical expertise is crucial, but the ability to effectively communicate with clients, understand their needs, and provide solutions is equally vital. Showcase instances where you've successfully resolved complex issues or enhanced customer satisfaction. Highlight your interpersonal skills, as building strong client relationships is often just as important as technical know-how. Demonstrating a customer-focused approach will set you apart as a valuable asset in the Managed Field Services industry. #careerdevelopment #careerchange #careeradvice #professionaldevelopment #professionalgrowth #techjobs #techcareers #techrecruiting #techrecruiter #teamgtn#thursdaytechtip #careerdevelopment #careerchange #careeradvice #professionaldevelopment #professionalgrowth #techjobs #techcareers #techrecruiting #techrecruiter #teamgtn

A good Recruiter is like a good Customer Success manager. They should be your trusted advisor on the state of the market/best practices and be thinking about long term results. A bad Recruiter or CS is only focused on the current opening/renewal and disappears after the task is complete.

What are the advantages of combining the Customer Success Manager and Account Manager roles? Unified Customer Relationship ✅Consistency in Communication: Customers interact with a single point of contact, enhancing the consistency and understanding in communications. ✅Stronger Relationships: The CS/AM can develop deeper, more personal relationships with customers, understanding their needs and preferences thoroughly. Enhanced Understanding of Customer Needs ✅Integrated Knowledge: Being involved in both success and account management, CS/AMs gain a comprehensive understanding of the customer's journey, goals, and challenges. ✅Proactive Service: This role can more effectively foresee customer needs and provide tailored solutions, potentially improving customer satisfaction and loyalty. Streamlined Internal Processes ✅Simplified Coordination: Reduces the need for coordination between separate CSMs and AMs, streamlining internal processes. ✅Efficient Training and Onboarding: Easier to train and onboard one role covering both aspects, rather than two separate roles. Cost-Effective ✅Reduced Payroll Expenses: Employing individuals who can handle both roles can reduce staffing costs. ✅Increased Operational Efficiency: Merging the roles can lead to more efficient use of resources and time. Faster Decision-Making ✅Agility in Customer Interaction: Decisions regarding account changes, upsells, or service modifications can be made quicker without the need to consult another department or colleague. There are disadvantages, too. Read on to find out what those are. And we'd love to hear your thoughts on - and experience with - combining these roles! https://lnkd.in/gKhig3sB #customersuccess #customersuccessmanager #accountmanagement #accountmanager #career

Hiring a business development consultant to help analyze your business processes can be a money-saving decision. As an outside agent, a consultant is not bound by the “that’s-always-how-we-done-things-around-here” mantra, and is able to identify areas that can be improved.
