✔️#Legal #protection for #nurses & other clinicians from being assaulted is ABSOLUTELY a step in the right direction. 🔲 NEXT STEP: Increase Mental Health Courts, inpatient mental health services, & outpatient mental health services for patients with diagnoses that make them harmful to self or others. This avoids incorrectly incarcerating people who actually need some form of long-term behavioral health care. There’s a lot of systemic problems in healthcare tangled together due to decades of sweeping them under the rug. As a result we have a series of public health crises we can’t hide anymore, ie dangerous shortage of frontline staff, poor recruitment & retention, mental health crisis, backlog of patient care, exploitative healthcare monopolies, & community hospitals financially collapsed by PE investors.
