After the three-year habitus of Covid, many people are feeling anxiety and distress reentering normal social situations as the #workfromhome pattern and social distancing have been the norm in their lives. According to experts, these social anxieties, or what they called “re-entry anxieties” are very natural and people will become more comfortable in these social settings as they engage more often. Social wellness is important as our relationships can offer support during difficult times. According to The HKFYG’s research on #allroundwellness, social wellness includes the willingness of building positive #connections with others and finding a sense of belonging in society. On the contrary, social isolation and a loss of connection are harmful to health and they increase the chances of depression and mortality. To help young people with mental health issues, The HKFYG’s Wellness PLUS started to use “Social Prescribing” to innovate mental health and physical health treatment. Joining the public health network Global Social Prescribing Alliance, the Wellness PLUS aims to use “Social Prescribing” model of health management and provide non-pharmacological support to local youth who suffer from mental health issues, obesity or skin disorders through personalised healthcare programmes such as social, art and sports activities. The Wellness PLUS will also train “Youth Public Health Practitioners” to teach local young people how to improve their physical and #mental wellness. For young people who are interested in contributing to their community’s mental wellbeing through a breadth of skills such as mental counselling, #mindfulness training and singing bowl therapy, don’t miss the chance to join our Wellness Manager Certificated Course! With on-the-spot training and social services, local youth can be better connected in their community and those who benefited from “Social Prescribing” can pass on what they learnt to their peers. Sign up for the course today and make your community better tomorrow! https://lnkd.in/gnmmAU5D #socialwellness #socialhealth #socialprescribing #humanconnection #youthdevelopment

Today, let's explore a topic that is crucial for our well-being but often overlooked—the importance of seeking professional help when needed. 🩺✨ First and foremost, recognizing when we need assistance is a sign of strength, not weakness. In our journey towards health and wellness, there are moments when professional expertise can make all the difference. Seeking help from qualified professionals ensures that we receive accurate diagnoses and tailored treatment plans. This is particularly vital for managing chronic conditions and addressing complex health issues that require specialized care. Moreover, professional guidance provides us with the necessary tools and knowledge to make informed decisions about our health. Whether it’s a nutritionist helping with dietary plans, a physiotherapist guiding through recovery exercises, or a mental health counselor offering strategies for emotional well-being, expert advice empowers us to take proactive steps towards our goals. One of the key benefits of seeking professional help is the personalized attention we receive. Health professionals take into account our unique circumstances, medical history, and lifestyle to create a comprehensive plan that addresses our specific needs. This personalized approach increases the effectiveness of treatments and enhances our overall quality of life. Additionally, professional help ensures that we are utilizing the most current and evidence-based practices. The healthcare field is constantly evolving, and staying updated with the latest advancements can be challenging. Professionals are trained to stay informed about new research and innovative treatments, ensuring that we receive the best possible care. Another critical aspect is the emotional and psychological support that professionals provide. Navigating health challenges can be overwhelming, and having a trusted advisor can alleviate stress and anxiety. Mental health professionals, in particular, play a crucial role in helping us cope with emotional difficulties and develop resilience. Lastly, seeking professional help fosters a sense of accountability and commitment. Regular check-ins with health experts keep us motivated and on track with our wellness goals. They provide encouragement, monitor progress, and make necessary adjustments to our plans, ensuring that we continue moving forward. In conclusion, seeking professional help is an invaluable investment in our health and well-being. It equips us with the expertise, support, and personalized care needed to navigate our health journeys successfully. Remember, taking the step to ask for help is a powerful act of self-care and a crucial part of achieving a healthier, happier life. #ProfessionalHelp #WellnessJourney #EmpowerYourHealth

Today the world is celebrating Mental Health Day to raise awareness of mental health issues around the world and to remind people suffering from mental issues that they are not alone if ever they are dealing with overwhelming feelings. Mental health is as important as physical health especially in today's fast-paced world where it is easy to feel stressed, isolated, and alone, which can contribute to mental health issues. At #Pfizer, we realize that for our colleagues to be their best, we must be committed to their health and wellness. We understand that unleashing the power of our people could be achieved by creating an environment where colleagues feel personally and professionally fulfilled and can speak up about their mental health challenges, which will make us more successful than ever in delivering breakthrough medicines to patients. This year we launched the A Wellness campaign besides the existing programs like the Wellness Support Program that provide comprehensive support of the physical, emotional, social, and financial well-being of our colleagues. Additionally, we are hosting informative webinars aimed at addressing the stigma and discrimination faced by individuals with mental health challenges. I would like to encourage our colleagues to take full advantage of the valuable resources available and to integrate small, actionable changes into their daily routine to foster a healthier sense of well-being. Finally I would like to thank all our ELI cluster colleagues for sharing #JOY moments and memories that brings a smile to each one of us.
