Those in attendance will learn: How Isaac Berzin optimized the potential of microalgae using geothermal energy and only 1% of the land and water resources of other nutrient sources for omega 3, protein, and key micronutrients with Vaxa Technologies Ltd. And they will hear from Berglind Ran Olafsdottir, CEO of ORF Genetics about how they have similarly optimized the growth of Barley for applications ranging from medical research to the creation of cultured meats. Both of these business models have been pioneered in Iceland with reason. 💚Exciting strides towards a nature-centered future!🌿 At the recent BIONEXT Project workshop in the sunny dunes of Schoorl, stakeholders, including our Head of Nature-Finance at 2DII, Samia Baadj, gathered to design pathways for a thriving, nature-positive Europe by 2050. Building on last year’s visionary proposals, participants crafted inspiring storylines for transformative change. Key pathways include:  1️⃣ Nature for Society: Reconnecting citizens with nature through sustainable policies and innovations.  2️⃣Nature for Nature: Prioritizing nature's intrinsic value, promoting compact living and sustainable practices.  3️⃣Nature as Culture: Empowering local communities to harmonize living with nature, respecting traditions. Next steps involve translating these visions into actionable plans, with a focus on justice. In the project, the technical innovations in the various pilots are accompanied by Environmental Lifecycle Assessments (LCA), Techno-Economic Assessments (TEA) and Social Impact Assessments (SLCA). This holistic perspective enables statements to be made on the three pillars of sustainability, which are based on scientific approaches. Staticus IT Project Manager Ricardo Seijas recently participated in the EEA and Norway Grants' Green Morning event. The experience proved to be an invaluable one, serving as a powerful reminder of the transformative potential of the circular economy for shaping sustainable business practices. The event acted as a focal point, bringing together a varied range of European companies to interact with new ideas and insights, making it an ideal environment for information sharing. Staticus, a corporation dedicated to studying and incorporating circular ideas into our operations, felt the emphasis on this emerging trend very important. One particular note was the incorporation of established circular economy business clusters like Skift10 and NCCE. These clusters offer an exciting opportunity to connect with like-minded partners and collaborate on future circular economy initiatives. It was inspiring to witness the dedication of the EEA Norway Grants to fostering sustainability-focused innovation across Europe. Their commitment to international cooperation in driving the circular economy will be impactful in the years to come.  Staticus Care is a project funded by the 2014-2021 Norwegian Financial Mechanism Program "Business Development, Innovation, and SMEs" EEA and Norway Grants.
