We are thrilled to announce our partnership between our South St. Paul manufacturing facility and the local South Metro Fire Department. 🐾 Meet Hal, an adorable facility dog who is in training to become a service dog, specializing in supporting individuals facing stress and anxiety. Our Wellie Team Members had a fun day spending time with him during his visit to our South St. Paul facility earlier in the year. We’re proud to sponsor such a meaningful initiative that not only enhances community wellbeing but also underscores the importance of mental health support. #CommunitySupport #MentalHealthAwareness #ServiceDogs #TeamWellie

To mark #MentalHealthAwarenessWeek we are launching #AskTwice. #AskTwice seeks to encourage a supportive mental health and wellbeing culture within policing, one that breaks down barriers and removes stigma, instead prioritising mental, physical, financial and general wellbeing over insecurity and isolation. When you fear a colleague may be struggling, however little, ask them how they are, and if you’re not convinced by their answer, ask twice. Being there for them and really showing up may make all the difference. And if you are struggling, or just need help to start a difficult conversation, the resources gathered under the AskTwice website can provide the support or guidance that you need. #AskTwice… it may save a life. We know that culture, community and connection are important components of mental health and wellness for BIPOC individuals (or for anyone, really). But what can you do to put these forces to work for your own well-being? 🤔 Mental Health America has a "Community Safety and Connection Plan" worksheet for just that purpose! The idea is to create an inventory of the people and places that make you feel safe, supported, and connected. Once you've done this, you can refer to your list when you're feeling down to know exactly where to go our whom to reach out to. 🤗 You can download a printable Community Safety and Connection Plan here: https://lnkd.in/gRvMisyf #BIPOCMentalHealthMonth #BIPOCMentalHealth #BIPOCHealthMatters #MentalHealthSupport

🧠 For us at 8fold, #MentalHealthAwarenessWeek is about inviting a pause - to consider the importance of thinking and talking about mental health within our workplace culture. 🫂As a fully-remote team, we place a high value on meeting regularly not only to collaborate on our work, but to check-in on each other and offer support wherever it’s needed. We also empower team members to meet in person in their local area whenever they’re in need of a check-in. We value the power of flexibility in work, but recognise the importance of time face-to-face. ❤️🩹We actively involve ourselves in initiatives concerning mental health, and last July, sponsored BatonOfHopeUK at Brighton Dome & Brighton Festival, an initiative designed to help prevent and raise awareness of suicide. 🤲At 8foldGovernance we keep humanity at the core of what we are and do, and mental health awareness week is the perfect time to put things into perspective - and to check in with our colleagues, families, and community members. #EndTheStigma

At our next Family Connections, the National Council for Mental Wellbeing joins us for a discussion the differences between 988 and 911, myths about 988, calling 988 for a minor child versus an adult child, and your questions about responding to crisis. If you are concerned about your own wellbeing or supporting another person in crisis, it’s important to feel confident about getting the right support when you need it. #AcceptAdvocateAct We hope you join us! https://ow.ly/CAHz50QuAws?

Today, on World Suicide Prevention Day, we pause to reflect on the impact of mental health challenges, and how we're working to foster an environment of empathy, support and understanding. At 407 ETR, we encourage active listening in the workplace and reaching out to those who we recognize may need help. By supporting campaigns like the Centre for Suicide Prevention’s Buddy Up program and our adoption of online services such as inkblot, we aim to connect employees with the support they need, promote conversations and reduce stigmas around mental health. Together, we can build a safer, more compassionate workplace. #WorldSuicidePreventionDay #BuddyUp #EndTheStigma #MentalHealthMatters #407ETR
