While treating diseases is an immediate response to Neglected Tropical Diseases, a more sustainable way is through improving health systems until we achieve total eradication. Doing away with NTDs is the best way to achieve a healthier future for all, and this can be achieved through appropriate programs. Interventions such as establishing clinics in remote areas, improving access to WASH facilities and training health professionals, including community health workers, are key steps towards achieving this overdue goal. By #BeatingNTDs, we protect millions from debilitating diseases and tackle future outbreaks. #NeglectedTropicalDiseases #HealthierFuture #GlobalHealthInitiative #PublicHealthPrograms

Populism and patient empowerment/Covid policy researcher, author of three books and editor of nine, expressionist portrait painter, prose poet of today
Pandemic Global Disaster - 28.5 Million dead (about 6 million more than World War 1, also in 4 years) No, Jair Bolsonaro is multiply discredited - not 'a little flu'. Health authorities discredited- not 'another respiratory infection' (despite airborne transmission, often ignored by OCD old themers, 'wash your hands'). Death Toll Global. It is a Pandemic. The Economist updated their tracker of excess deaths attributable to the #Covid_19 pandemic. Their cumulative total now 28.5 million, and >700,000 excess deaths over the past 3 months. (SA: My source here - only X. Link to come.) Note World War 1 Legacies - 'gammy legs' and 'shell shock' (PTSD) Covid 19 Legacies - Long Covid fatigue, brain damage, CV events, plus plus
