☀ Last week, we traveled to Crevillent, Spain, for the STREAM review meeting to assess the progress of the EU-funded project. Their approach includes technical assistance, capacity building, outreach and consensus building. RAP's key initiatives encompass decarbonizing the grid, electrification of buildings and transportation, distributed energy resources, reducing emissions from fossil fuels and designing a #cleanenergy future. It has effective relationships with numerous EU agencies, NGOs and institutes, and is often sought out for advice on complex energy and regulatory issues. New EU project announcement 📣🇪🇺 🏢 Buildings account for 40% of energy consumption and 36% of greenhouse gas emissions in Europe. Recognizing their critical role in achieving the EU's ambitious environmental and #energyefficiency targets, WeForming aims to transform the paradigm of efficiently managing energy in buildings, focusing on seamless integration with energy networks and markets. ⚡️ Through groundbreaking solutions, WeForming will address digital operation, management, and maintenance, along with efficient and interactive energy processing for Intelligent Grid-Forming Buildings (iGFBs). 🌱 Over the next three years, 30 partner entities from 10 countries will work towards a shared vision of establishing #iGFBs as key players in shaping a secure, resilient, and #zerocarbon energy ecosystem. Good news for Norwegian Battery Innovation!🔋 We are thrilled that the FME Battery Centre of the Institute for Energy Technology has been granted robust funding of 110 million euros over the next eight years. The initiative is part of The Research Council of Norway's commitment to fostering innovative energy R&D through its FME programme (Centres for Environment-Friendly Energy Research). Morrow is proud to be a key industrial partner in this national effort, which aims to strengthen Norway’s position in the global battery value chain. The Battery FME virtual research centre combines top-tier research institutes, universities, and industrial players. "This funding will accelerate Norway's endeavours in battery R&D and enhance our capabilities in training top-notch researchers, including Ph. D.s and postdocs. It will also open up avenues for international collaborations—essential to driving innovation in battery technology," comments Ronny Gløckner, Head of Development at Morrow.   📣 New ISGAN video featuring Branislav Iglar, research engineer at the Austrian Institute of Technology and the working group manager for ISGAN's Working Group 7 on Smart Transitions. When considering the energy transition and the required grid innovations, it's important to consider various perspectives including policymakers, technological developers, and the social sciences and humanities. In the past, Group 7 and their work on regulatory sandboxes has helped validate regulatory innovation, particularly in the realm of flexible connections to the electricity network. Central pillar of this laboratory’s research is the technoeconomic analysis of energy systems, and the support of effective energy and climate policy design.   🔴 In ENSMOV Plus, TEESlab provides guidelines for monitoring the KPIs (Key Performance Indicators) and evaluate the monitoring of the final outcomes of the experience exchange.
