Leave us alone so called experts! I’m seeing too many “tips” on how to improve your portfolio, a lot of dos and don’ts that never seem to stop🫨 I’d say this, go with your guts. As designers in general, a well written, intuitively laid out and detailed enough portfolio should be common sense. As long as your story makes sense, go with it. I’ve been holding off to talk about it but I think this should be addressed. Also recruiters and clients, please don’t just limit the format to websites. What’s wrong with PDFs or even PP slides? Since apparently you spend on average, what, 2 minutes on them? Most of them use 3rd party web platforms to build them anyway. I’d be more impressed if they hand coded it themselves. But that’s just me. The “non-expert”. Mine was a PDF for yeearrss before I even consider moving online😮💨 Let’s keep it inclusive and fair guys. Isn’t it what it’s all about? Bonne nuit🫡

Ensure an error page is never a dead end on your site by following these tips: Show the header navigation: allows the user to navigate to anywhere on the site using a familiar interface. Error title and message: try to give some context to what page they’re seeing and why (e.g. sorry we couldn’t find the page you were looking for). Add a search box: so they can easily find what they might have been looking for. Add a clear CTA that goes to the homepage. Bonus: If you have a help / support page, you could link to this to help them find an answer.

Did you know that you can "edit" a website? Here's how to do it, step by step: 1. Right click anywhere on the site 2. Select "Inspect" 3. Click the "Console" tab 4. Write: document.designMode = 'on' Now you can edit the site freely. Of course, the changes are only visible to you 😅 But this is handy if you're taking a screenshot of a site for example, and want to delete or edit certain parts of it.
