When we can’t stop thinking about all the things that will need to be figured out in the future, it's an act of profound self-kindness to remind ourselves: we only have to, and only can, manage today. If managing today feels like too much, then just manage (and relax) with this second. #selfcompassion www.nancycolier.com

Today, one year ago I received the call that change my life. I had 6 hours of being discharged from the hospital and with 2 surgeries looming ahead. I don't have many memories from that time. Maybe it was the medication, the shock, or the exhaustion. But what I do remember is feeling incredibly alone, despite being surrounded by my loved ones. It was then that I realized the weight on my shoulders was something only I could bear. As the days went by I started to loose sleep, appetite, and suddenly I just stopped feeling anything. I realised something was not ok in me, that I was entering on a world that I didn’t knew from practice but theory helped me identifying that I was struggling with #anxiety and #panic attacks. You see, if I were not #MentalHealth #aware I couldn’t have identified what I have and wouldn’t reach for the help I needed. This is why #MentalHealth awareness is an important thing to speak out, it encourages open discussions and empathy towards those that may don’t know and also it reduces the stigma around it. By promoting #wellbeing, building supportive communities, and increasing awareness, we can make a difference. You may never know when that knowledge will come in handy or when your understanding of mental health can help someone in need or their family. Mental health #awareness saves lives – it certainly saved mine. Hope you find this helpful:

Read Septembers Swoon Magazine article on emotionally immature partners. “The biggest indicator of emotional immaturity in a relationship is when your partner is incapable of healthy conflict resolution. When you bring up your feelings in a vulnerable way, and your partner counter complaints or they tell you you’re too sensitive, there is no reason to continue the conversation.” Click the LINK to READ https://lnkd.in/gaiG-pE7 #pinkertonpsychotherapy #bestandrest #reheadreveal #couples #relationships #emotionalimmature #couplescounseling #communication Supervised by Paula Boros, PhD, LMFT-S, AAMFT Approved Supervisor
