https://lnkd.in/eSxtFaFS....... Exciting times are ahead as one of these remarkable women will have the honor of guiding the City of Las Vegas into the future. But what will the Entertainment Capital of the World look like in 2035? Imagine a city where AI-driven smart buildings powered by PoE technology create energy-efficient, green, and self-sustaining environments. Picture casinos, convention centers, children’s hospitals, hotels, resorts, commercial and residential properties, art museums, and EV CHARGING DISTRICTS all contributing to a sustainable and vibrant urban landscape. Can Las Vegas achieve this transformation in the coming years? Is the city prepared to embrace microgrids? How will Las Vegas harness its abundant solar power, heat, and steam energy to combat the extreme temperatures and maximize its renewable energy potential? Addressing homelessness with innovative strategies is crucial. Instead of criminalizing the homeless for selling bottled water to tourists in the sweltering heat, could we incentivize them to sustain themselves legally and transition out of the tunnels? Can the City of Las Vegas analyze what Atlanta Mayor - Andre Dickens is doing with shipping containers for permanent housing for the homeless in the metro Atlanta area? https://lnkd.in/egYM5uZQ Unorthodox thinking and strategies will be essential to move Las Vegas forward and tackle the homelessness crisis. Visionaries like Steve Wynn have taken Las Vegas on an incredible journey of innovation. As he prepares to pass the torch, who will rise to the challenge and lead Las Vegas into its next era of greatness?

I wanted to learn for myself why members of Congress were condemning Congresswoman Marjorie Taylor Greene for attempting to oust Speaker Johnson. Most of the media reported the derogatory statements made by her colleagues rather than her reasons for the action. It is like a total news blackout. I finally found Marjorie Taylor Greene's video of her speech on the floor. I would not like to see Congress thrown into chaos again, but there are many valid complaints in Greene's resolution to oust Johnson. What was stunning is that members of Congress quickly dismissed Greene's Resolution, indicating how out of touch they are with US, their constituents. I share concerns and disappointment with Johnson. He chose to help House democrats with funding issues no true conservative would support like funding and compromising on the Ukraine war, abortion programs and appears to ignore more pressing issues like our trillions in unsustainable debt, human trafficking and smuggling of Fentanyl. Speaker Mike Johnson has a tough job with a slim Republican majority, but he must stand on principles that support the security and welfare of our country, He must cajole democrats to find their conscience and help fix the wrongs that harm our country. How does the average citizen help these causes? Vote out democrats and vote in solid conservatives that will do the People's work. Until then, hold those in office accountable to US. We must urge them to help to fix these critical issues as often as it takes until they get the message. Take time to view the video. Share it with others. We, the America People are all that stands in the way of the continued erosion of our Republic. https://lnkd.in/gr26_hav

New Towns and exiting times. I’m reminded of how a nation recovering from war reacted to the New Towns Act 1946. Although Stevenage was effectively extended as opposed to born into existence, it’s worth remembering that no matter the times, no matter the scale of ambition and determination, opposition was always there. You can see the locals giving the planning minister a piece of their mind. Yet as the TCPA website notes the “New Towns programme, with its three phases between 1946 and 1970, was the most ambitious town building programme ever undertaken in the United Kingdom. Alongside legislation in Scotland and Northern Ireland, the New Towns Act 1946 led to the delivery of 32 New Towns across the UK. These towns are now home to around 2.8 million people.” Could we aspire to such ambition now? Well, what we know is that there will be opposition and resistance. And that’s not necessarily a bad thing, for a healthy democracy there also needs to be a healthy opposition. But the scale of ambition must also match the moment. Enjoy this Pathe clip. And see the new policy statement here: https://lnkd.in/eqsWVWy5. https://lnkd.in/e8VPK6km
