How do we create systems where no human faces unfair barriers? DEI has always been difficult, and it seems to be particularly difficult these days. Which groups should be included? Why? But the focus on creating fair systems might help address obstacles and inequalities on a more foundational, structural level, and support thriving, creative, human-centric organizations. 💛Disabled, culturally different, intersectionally marginalized – all humans should be able to bring their talents to work and to be treated with dignity. 💛Creating systems that support those most sensitive to problems and obstacles - canaries in the coal mine - can help create supportive systems for all. 💛Creating fair systems calls for embedding inclusion and fairness principles into organizational systems, into every aspect of talent processes. I spent many hours pondering which event triggered the sequence of actions, and which event was the end outcome. 🤔 I have settled for trusted quality relationships and quality results.
