WDG's newest office-to-hotel conversion, 1776 K Street NW, is located in downtown Washington, DC’s Golden Triangle BID, at the intersection of 18th and K Streets NW. The project involves transforming an existing 12-story, 1960s, Class B office building into a 278-key hotel. The hotel will provide a market, fitness center, and meeting spaces; a penthouse-level bar, plating kitchen, flexible conference space, and outdoor terrace with panoramic views of the city; and a connected café and restaurant at the ground-floor corner with outdoor seating. In addition to adding remarkable visual presence at a busy downtown crossroads, a series of V-shaped columns finished in rich color will lure pedestrians inside the property through a dramatic double-height entry lobby and restaurant storefront. At night, a faint glow will be emitted from behind the dark metal panels, providing subtle articulation on the façade surface and making the building easily identifiable. People looking for corporate housing close to businesses or nearby the White House, World Bank, and other institutions in Washington, D.C.'s central business district will find this location ideal, as it is right in the middle of downtown and near amenities that draw visitors to the District. Congrats to the 1776 K Street NW team on this exciting new project: WDG, OTO Development Learn more: https://lnkd.in/eR-bTPqj #officeconversion #repositioning #renovation #adaptivereuse #dcarchitecture #wdgarchitecture
