Knock them off theirhigh horses and make them cringe; make them tell us the truth behind all ofthe bullsh*t and secrecy. You’ll have about three minutes but you don’t have to use all three minutes.Just say what’s on your mind, and let them know you’re aware of what’sgoing on and you want answers. Black farm ownership declined from 15 million acres in 1920 to 1 million acres by 2017, according to Ceres Trust. Additionally, Black farmers only accounted for 0.87% of the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s (USDA) lending from 2001 to 2008. These statistics declined further in 2009 and 2016, as they would only account for 0.80% of USDA lending, per The Counter. Beyond capital support that includes grants and low-interest notes, the fund also works to provide technical support such as virtual and in-person engagements for skills training and community building. The latest funding round is a testament that investors see great promise that Black Farmer Fund will continue to operate in good faith to benefit Black food businesses. The raise follows a pilot fund, with the goal of reaching $20 million in capital, per Black Star News. #socialimpact #capital #BlackFarmers #agricultureandfarming #agriculture #farming #investing

Did you grow up on the bayou? or a lake? I did and to be honest, Almost every person in Louisiana lives near or on a body of water. With this luxury - comes access to fresh water everyday, access to food, and fun. BUT it also mean our way of life is tied to the water and the land. How are you VOTING and ACTING that protects our ways of life? Development of new neighborhoods - The drainage plans for businesses - The regulation and monitoring of how big businesses use our waterways and land - AND are they paying their fair share to take care of our precious state of Louisiana? No one is a true Louisianian unless they put our state's future first, ahead of corporate greed. People can earn profits without destroying Louisiana. Some of them are just lazy f**** #realtorforlouisiana #louisiana #louisianagirl #realtorforlouisiana #homesinlouisiana #movingtolouisiana #neworleans #nolarentals #buyingahome #neworleanshomes

https://lnkd.in/gi-ZaVzg Imagine the distress of losing one’s ancestral home—a reality for many, where land equals heritage and survival. In a world marred by exploitation and silenced voices, the work of Land Rights Defenders Inc established in 2020 and incorporated on April 18, 2023, is crucial. We’re fighting against the tyranny of power and greed that leads to forced evictions and land grabs, betraying the promise of the Universal Declaration on Rights of Indigenous Peoples. Our “Land Rights Defenders” T-shirt fundraiser is more than fashion; it’s a call to unite and act for justice, helping fund legal battles, educate communities, lobby for fair policies, and expose rights violations. By buying a T-shirt, you’re not just donating, you’re joining a fight for dignity, cultural identity, and human rights. Your support helps us stand with those facing land injustices and ensures development doesn’t trample human rights. Join us, wear your support, and help secure a future where land rights are a universal reality. Support our T-shirt fundraiser and defend the very ground that sustains us. #WearTheMessage #standup4humanrights #SolidarityAcrossBoaders The New York Times The Washington Post BBC News (international commercial) CNN Ameyaw Debrah Phonan Bonsu Nancy O'Neill Nana kwesi Osei Bonsu W.
