Economic development successes are underscored in the 2024 Corporate Sustainability Report as a critical tactic in American Electric Power’s mission to provide safe, reliable and affordable electricity in a low-carbon world. “At AEP, 2023 was a year of major change for our business, including managing economic headwinds, achieving record economic development in our 11-state service territory, and seeding lasting social impact in our communities,” said Sandy Nessing, VP and Chief Sustainability Officer. “A high point of 2023 was the immense success of economic and business development in our states.
