Dear TRIZ Enthusiasts, TRIZFEST2024 The 19th International Conference "TRIZfest-2024" will be held in Kuching, Sarawak, Malaysia, from September 4th to 6th, 2024, with a pre-conference day of tutorials and workshops on September 3rd and post-conference attractions on September 7th. The event is organized by the International TRIZ Association (MATRIZ), the Malaysia TRIZ Innovation Association (MyTRIZ) and the Sarawak TRIZ Association (SarawakTRIZ). The theme of TRIZfest-2024 is "Innovate with TRIZ and AI for sustainable global growth." We at this moment invite everyone who is involved in TRIZ research and development, who uses TRIZ, as well as those who are interested in TRIZ and want to meet TRIZ professionals and learn more about TRIZ, TOPICS & PAPERS SUBMISSION The topics for this year's conference are as follows: 1. TRIZ for sustainable and ecological development. 2. TRIZ in mobility includes electric, hybrid, and hydrogen vehicles. 3. TRIZ in pedagogy. 4. TRIZ and AI are working together for growth. 5. TRIZ in industrial inventions of the 21st century. I will be at the Hinterland conference tomorrow, joining a panel discussion about startup-corporate collaboration and how we can build more effective innovation ecosystems in Europe. Under the current economic climate, a lot of centralization and efficiency programs also impact enterprises’ ability to drive and to grow from innovation. While efficiency is a prerequisite (and we still have work to do there in our economy), I am convinced we need to get much better leveraging the strengths of our decentralized ecosystem, our Mittelstand and our talent. If we want back to the top, we need to reinvigorate our builder’s spirit and grow from building new things - not just squeezing the old and looking at others that we should and could not mimic anyways. Once again, Diversify exemplified how to bring honesty and vulnerability to the complex topics of DEI. The event was an incredibly valuable and thought-provoking opportunity to: 💡 Learn and unlearn 🇸🇪 Discuss Sweden-specific challenges 🔀 Connect (and re-connect!) with others It was also an opportunity for Trase - Intelligence for sustainable trade to continue our DEI journey. I often talk about how our DEI work is truly a team effort, responsibility, and priority. Last week was no exception. "Let’s tackle this issue together, as an ecosystem." This phrase has echoed through countless meetings, often uttered without a deep understanding of its implications for value creation, challenges, and the necessity for personal and organizational reassessment. In collaboration with Gregory (Greg) Bernarda and the insights from his extensive research, we've embarked on a journey to demystify the concept of ecosystems for several teams. Guiding them through their ecosystem visions, we provided essential tools and reference points to navigate this complex terrain. From personal experience, creating a meaningful ecosystem is no small feat. It requires dedication, a willingness to reassess and adapt, and most importantly, hard work. But the rewards—unlocking new meanings and values—are immeasurable. Thanks to our collective efforts (Augustin Solioz, Catherine Foliot, Pauline Jager, Philippe Vlaeminck and Frédéric Debailleul), for these teams, the ecosystem approach is now closer to becoming their reality. As Winston Churchill stated, 'Success is not final, failure is not fatal: it is the courage to continue that counts.' This journey of building and nurturing ecosystems embodies the essence of Churchill’s words. It's about the courage to persist, innovate, and envision new paradigms of value creation.
