When Harald Schirmer asked me to contribute to the first "Global Virtual Welcome Day" at Continental I spontaneously said "Yes" and then starting to think wbout: what?!.. And then more intensively, what shall I?!... What is interesting to know from the very beginning when starting a new job?! *** What would be the message to myself as a new hire?! 1️⃣ Your are wanted! When somebody is joining a new team, there have been a long journey before: raising the need for a new position, discussing and aligning on the profile, searching for best fit, etc, etc.. A team, an organization, a whole company wants exactly you to join forces with them! 2️⃣ You are not alone! As you are embarquing the new jouney, you might feel afraid of all the unknown stuff and ambitious golas might seem unrealistic. But you know what?! There are - in our case at Continental 200000 people willing to help and support! Just ask for support as you need! 3️⃣ You will become! Typically we are starting new jobs. What really starts - or continues - is not a job but rather a becoming process. We are growing beyond jobs, we might wish a job, what we really get is a wonderful gift of personal growth. *** I wish all colleagues joing Continental and the first Global Virtual Welcoming Day a wonderful journey ahead, our paths will certainly cross again! 🍀🧡
