Design Your Dream Life (without quitting your job!) Ever feel drained by some tasks but energized by others? This post is about finding activities that make you feel fantastic! Here's the trick: Track your daily activities for a month and rate them on 3 things: Engagement: How focused and interested were you? Did you lose track of time? Flow: Did you get into a state of complete absorption, where everything else faded away? Energy: Did you feel energized or drained after the activity? Let's look at Michael: He loved being a civil engineer, especially solving complex Engineering problems. But admin tasks and difficult people zapped his energy. Instead of quitting, he found a way to focus on what he loved. He pursued a Ph.D. and became a high-level civil and structural Designer, tackling those challenging projects he craved. Now, he goes home with more energy than when he arrived! By tracking your activities and energy levels, you can see what truly lights you up. Work can be fun! The whole point of a degree, is to show a potential employer that you showed up someplace four years in a row, completed a series of tasks reasonably well, and on time. so if he hires you, there's a semi-decent chance that you will show up there everyday and not f*** up his business up. #construction #civilengineering #structuralengineering
