The beloved Castle Park in Augusta, KS, has successfully completed it's rebuild project on June 1, 2024. Originating from the vision of a dedicated group in 2001, it came to life in April 2002 with over 3,000 volunteers. Situated near the city lake, Castle Park originally featured scenic walking paths and a delightful splash park. Unfortunately, due to deterioration, the park was demolished in March 2022. A committee spent two years planning and fundraising to rebuild and expand it to over 11,000 sq. ft. Inspired by the community's dedication, VSE Aviation made a monetary contribution, and a team of VSE Cares volunteers rolled up their sleeves to assist in the rebuild showcasing their skills in various tasks.
