We are looking for an executive principal to join #TeamDixons. This is an exciting opportunity to join our trust at a time of growth and be instrumental in developing opportunities for further growth in the North West. Initially, this role will hold responsibility for one of our academies: Dixons Brooklands Academy, but will be part of our wider cross-regional executive leadership team, eventually taking on responsibility for more of our schools in Manchester and Liverpool. As part of our executive team, you will be responsible for shaping our strategic direction, focusing on developing our schools in the North West and ensuring the crafting of a culture that values diversity, keeps aspirations on track, has strong social norms, and is rooted in a commitment to developing intrinsic motivation. You will be responsible for supporting our principals through executive coaching, and will be supported by our Centre for Growth in people and curriculum development. This role provides an opportunity for you to get involved in all aspects of our academy transformation work: including providing hands on support in the day to day running of an existing academy, leading academies as they join our trust, alongside supporting the planning and development of our two new free schools which will open in Manchester in the next few years. The Marzano Focused Models are on the growth end of the spectrum while many other frameworks tend to only focus on the measurement aspect. Challenges in Recruiting As seen in Hunt Scanlon Media's recently released 2023 Higher Education Recruiting Report, #recruiting senior leaders in the higher education sector has become a dynamic and evolving process. As #universities face numerous challenges, including financial constraints, enrollment declines, and the need to prioritize diversity and inclusion, the demand for visionary and transformational leaders has never been higher. Ever wonder why West Virginia is always at the top of bad lists and the bottom of good ones? My home state is really good at driving talent away and fighting progress. It might be the state’s sole gift. The proposed cuts at West Virginia University are a good example of the endemic ignorance that lives in the mountain state. To the “leaders” at WVU: you can’t cost cut your way to glory. If you’re out of ideas to grow enrollment and serve the young people of WV, just say it and quit. Stop choosing comfort, status, pretending and a paycheck over progress. Throwing up your hands and saying “I don’t know “ isn’t progress. It’s surrender. Why would anyone attend a university that doesn’t respect itself enough to grow and evolve? #leadership #management #ceomindset
