Sibanye-Stillwater concludes its fourth renewable energy power purchase agreement (PPA) in South Africa Financial close has been achieved on the Umsinde Emoyeni Wind Farm PPA. This 140MW wind energy project will power our SA operations, marking a significant stride towards our 2040 carbon neutrality goal. Construction begins soon, with commercial operation scheduled for Q4 2026. The project consortium, led by African Clean Energy Developments (ACED) and EIMS Africa, along with African Infrastructure Investment Managers (AIIM) and Reatile Renewables, will fully fund, build, and operate the project. This project, alongside our other PPAs, brings our total contracted renewable energy capacity to 407MW; securing 70% of our long-term energy requirements and enabling a 24% reduction in our Scope 2 emissions from 2027. We're thrilled to share the latest developments at the Saldanha Terminal in South Africa, where they've successfully handled their first shipment of wind turbine components. This achievement is a major milestone for our nation's growing renewable energy industry, showcasing our capacity to import large-scale renewable energy components. The wind farm in the Western Cape, part of the Renewable Energy Independent Power Producer Procurement Program (REIPPPP), is making incredible progress, thanks to this critical infrastructure. The REIPPPP has played a vital role in fostering South Africa's renewable energy growth, with over 20 gigawatts of capacity awarded to independent power producers. 🌬️🇿🇼 Zimbabwe to Construct 200MW Wind Farm! 🌍💨 Optate Africa, a Zimbabwean company, is set to embark on a significant venture – the construction of a 200MW wind power plant near Plumtree in the south-west of the nation. 🌐 They have secured a 25-year lease from Mangwe Rural District Council for 100ha of land to establish this cutting-edge wind farm. This initiative aligns with Zimbabwe's increasing focus on renewable energy. In 2022, the government revived plans to integrate wind power into the national energy mix, addressing power deficits and preparing for anticipated growth in demand. The project supports the government's ambition, outlined in the Zimbabwe National Renewable Energy Policy, to generate 1.1GW of renewable energy by 2025, constituting 16.5% of the overall capacity.🌱 Part of the power generated by the wind farm will be supplied to the Zimbabwe Electricity Transmission and Distribution Company (ZETDC) under a 25-year Power Purchase Agreement. Morocco's great potential for wind energy production.... European report ◼ A recent European report noted that Morocco could become a hub for wind energy production in North Africa. The report added that if Morocco uses offshore wind farms, the country can play a future role in renewable energy in the world. ◼ The recent European report showed the Kingdom's great potential for wind power production, which could exceed 10 GW, but Morocco was not seeking to stop at an ambitious 10 GW limit; Owing to its possession of an enormous offshore, the construction of wind farms can bring production ratios to record levels. ◼ Offshore wind farms are more environmentally friendly than other forms of renewable energy, as they can produce higher levels of energy due to larger wind turbines and stronger wind features in the ocean. ◼ There are, of course, obstacles to the establishment of Morocco's wind farms. The turbines of these farms cost considerable money, along with the potential ecological impact in parallel with the work of these turbines, especially the economic areas of the maritime coast such as fishing. ◼ The Ministry of Energy Transition and Sustainable Development had disclosed that the electrical capacity created through Morocco's wind energy sources amounted to 1430 megawatts, as well as that the share of wind power in the total capacity achieved was 13.48. ◼ Morocco has 28 wind power projects, the largest in terms of production, the Aftisat 1 wind field with a red eye-gum side of up to 200 megawatts. #energyticslimited #renerableenergy #energyefficiency #energyinnovation #windenergy #morocco

These resources can be used to generate clean and sustainable energy that will help to reduce our reliance on fossil fuels and combat climate change. In fact, Kenya has already made significant progress in developing its renewable energy sector. The country has set a target of generating 100% of its electricity from renewable sources by 2030. And, to date, Kenya has already installed over 800 megawatts of renewable energy capacity. Kenya’s Renewable Energy Auctions Policy (REAP), launched in early 2021, is expected to significantly expand Kenya’s renewable power capacity over the next decade, with GlobalData forecasting growth from 1.4 GW in 2020 to 3.7 GW in 2030. GreenGo Energy Group, a Denmark-based developer, is planning something big in Mauritania, West Africa. They want to establish a massive green energy park by deploying 60GW of wind and solar power, along with 35GW of electrolysers, and the proposed designs are spectacular. The goal is to make Mauritania one of the world's major players in green energy, with the project scheduled to roll out between 2028 and 2035. It aims to produce around four million tonnes of hydrogen and 18 million tonnes of green ammonia each year. The company has formally applied to the Ministry of Petroleum, Energy, and Mines in the country for approval to develop the project called Megaton Moon. Once completed, it will be easily visible from space. GreenGo Energy chief executive Karsten Nielsen said “Megaton Moon embodies climate action with an ambition to deliver 1% of the total global green hydrogen demand by 2050 to reach NetZero”. Renewable Energy EIA Database:  - The Renewable Energy EIA database is a comprehensive database that contains information about the Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) studies conducted for renewable energy projects in South Africa. EIAs are essential for evaluating the potential environmental impacts of such projects and ensuring that they meet regulatory and environmental standards. 3. Electric Grid Infrastructure Corridors:  - Electric grid infrastructure corridors refer to the planned routes or areas where electric transmission lines are developed to facilitate the transportation and distribution of energy resources, including renewable energy. These corridors are crucial for ensuring that renewable energy generated in the REDZs can be efficiently transported to consumers.
