New article! I've written a detailed examination of Titian's use of drawing for his narrative works. It attempts to reassess what we know in light, especially, of new technical discoveries regarding the underdrawing and revisions to his paintings. It's in the excellent volume "Venetian Disegno - New Frontiers c. 1420-1620" edited by Maria Aresin and Thomas Dalla Costa, with Genevieve Verdigel, out from Paul Holberton in London. https://lnkd.in/d2ixVsz4

Life can sometimes throw us into a storm, there could be dark clouds & high winds...& that is when art as a virtue comes to the rescue. One of the fine arts of humanity is resilience; resilience is not in avoiding a storm, but in learning to dance with the rain. Enjoy my newest piece here: Dragons Fly.

This term I had the opportunity to write on Henry Kissinger’s life and legacy, which ended up being the cover story for this issue of Polemics. While most know Kissinger for his position as Secretary of State, I delved into the tragic consequences of his strategy and actions. Give it a read down below

Creating, whether through abstract art or captivating words, possesses a unique beauty. Like stars in the night sky, these creations shine brightly. Do our personal legacies and words spark life? Is our existence carried forward through what we create, or do our creations continue, preserving the essence of our lives? Life itself is akin to an abstracted museum—a journey through the clouds, finding solace beneath the branches of a tree. Excerpt from my upcoming novel "Sijjil"

Check out this post from one of our recent graduates, Emily Zarse!
I'm over the moon that the amazing Hettie Judah is visiting Bloomington this week! Her book "How Not to Exclude Artist Mothers (and Other Parents)" offers so much support and insight. Stars aligned and The Kinsey along with Arts and Humanities Council is hosting a conversation with Hettie this Friday May 10th 6pm at The Bishop- which is right across the street from my new collaborative exhibit exploring art and mothering with painter Gloria Manzanares. Come out for what is to be an amazing talk and stay after when we'll lead an informal gallery tour of the exhibit "Creative ReProduction" at the John Waldron Arts Center. Talk is 6-7:30pm and tour to follow. Spread the word and check out Hettie's amazing body of work including new book “Acts of Creation”
