Whether or not it is good to pose playing with your hair as a model will depend on the specific photo shoot and the overall style you are going for. In some cases, it can be a flirty and playful way to pose, while in other cases, it can come across as unprofessional or unkempt. I was on a jewellery photo shoot, so playing with my hair, in my opinion and the photographers too, added personality and interest to the photos. For this photoshoot, I aimed to capture the essence of Hollywood noir, inspired by the glamour and mystery of the Academy Awards. Vogue México approached me to create a series of images that exuded elegance and sophistication; images that would transport viewers to a bygone era of classic cinema. Shooting on film allowed me to infuse the photographs with a touch of nostalgia while maintaining the timeless allure of black and white photography. Through careful composition and attention to detail, I sought to create a visual narrative that would captivate the audience and evoke a sense of intrigue and allure. When you hear a photographer talking about getting it right in camera, this is what we mean. This shot taken on a recent shoot for a Maddy Johnson Hair & Makeup Artist had the brief of a light feel, a white wedding style outfit on a light/white background. With the studio lights metered perfectly for background versus subject light with the subject, Lucy correctly distanced so the back lights don't bleed on to the white garment and burn out the detail, the subject light being set so to not bleach the white of the outfit while at the same time being strong enough to catch the detail on Lucy. You'll see there is very little lighting difference between the Raw image and the finished version which has essentially had a five minute skin toning edit applied. This is why when you hire a photographer you make absolutely sure you hire a professional who understands the skill of photography and can produce results In Camera.
