We recently partnered with the CHAMP Awards, which is an annual event that honors 88 Charleston County students. The award is designed to honor “Unsung Heroes” and the nomination process focuses on identifying and selecting students who often go unnoticed, even though they’ve accomplished numerous achievements in their community, church, home, and/or school. Winners are selected based on students' character, community service, academic effort, and overcoming odds. We donated Vivacity backpacks 🎒 to all 88 students and the two winners were also given brand new Chromebooks 💻! Thank you so much to the CHAMP Awards for allowing us to give back to these amazing students! 💜 #BeVivacious #PhilanthropicFiles #ProudPBC #GiveBack #WereTheGoodGuys #EdTech #K12Education

Minds Matter is the real deal when it comes to changing lives for #FGLI students. Every single one of our students gets into a 4-year college (compared to less that half of all first-generation, low-income students). The work we do is important now more than ever as we look to a future where the only way to overcome inter-generational wealth disparities is through higher education. 🔥 Donating to Minds Matter ignites a future full of potential. Will you be the spark? https://lnkd.in/dHZYU2bq
Want to make a tangible difference in the life of a student? Minds Matter students are driven, dedicated, and ready to change the world. They can do that with Minds Matter. 🌟 Exciting News from Valdes Math: Launching Our Giving Tuesday Campaign! 🌟 This Giving Tuesday, November 28, 2023, Valdes Math is launching a special campaign with a heartfelt mission - to raise $20,000 for buses that will transport our students from their neighborhoods to our summer program classes on college campuses across the South Bay area. Why is this initiative so important? Our summer program takes place on college campuses, offering a unique and immersive learning experience for our students. By attending classes on campus, they leave their regular school environment and get a taste of what a college campus feels like, inspiring them to pursue higher education in the future. For many of these students, attending classes on campus is a dream come true, and the buses make this dream a reality. Here's how you can help us make a difference: 1. Donate: Your generous contributions will directly fund the buses, enabling more students to attend our summer program and empowering them with education. 2. Spread the Word: Share this post with your network and encourage others to contribute. Together, we can amplify our impact and reach our goal. Let's come together and make a positive change in the lives of these students. Every donation, no matter how big or small, will bring us one step closer to our $20,000 goal. With your help, we can ensure that every child has the chance to learn, grow, and thrive. To donate and learn more about our campaign, please visit our website: https://lnkd.in/g-nS7ss8. Thank you for your unwavering support. Together, we can provide these students with the keys to a brighter future. #GivingTuesday #EducationMatters #ValdesMath #SupportEducation #SouthBayCommunity #MakeADifference 📚🚌

We know strong leaders create the conditions for school communities to flourish and their effect is even greater than we thought. I am proud of the work we do to empower educators with the tools they need to lead at the highest level! #impact2023 #leadersmatter #leadershipdevelopment
It’s time to put students FIRST! The key to making sure every student has access to an equitable education that empowers them to succeed in life is a transformational school leader. That’s because a recent study revealed a principal in the 75th percentile of effectiveness can help increase academic achievement in reading and math by about three months (https://lnkd.in/gsdbytdu). Ready to join a community of passionate philanthropists in supporting school leaders to give Black and brown students access to a high-quality education? Make your gift to Impact 2023 today, and remember—every donation, no matter how large or small, matters: https://lnkd.in/gAqcYA4h #Impact2023

These students' 101 reasons to read are OUR 101 reasons to give. The bright minds of Cozine Elementary School (plus two graduates from our Readers in Training program) share stories on why reading is important to them. Spread the Word Nevada is a children’s literacy nonprofit, 501 (C)(3) corporation, dedicated to advancing early childhood literacy by placing books into the hands and homes of children within Nevada’s at-risk, low income communities. While developing a love of reading, these libraries promote future academic achievement and self-confidence, which impacts lifelong success. Since 2001, Spread the Word Nevada has distributed more than 7 million gently used and new books to more than 830,000 low-income youth in Nevada.

If you are able, please join me in donating to an organization I love, the Bay Area Urban Debate League (BAUDL)! I am honored to be the Debate Coach at Richmond High School this year, and I am hoping that you can help support our work of traveling to outside circuit tournaments this season! Donate online at baudl.org/donate-to-baudl. For context, BAUDL offers debate programming for Black, brown, and urban students across the Bay Area, equipping young people with skills to think critically, craft compelling arguments, and offering a platform for urban youth to participate in national dialogues about pressing social issues. Your donation will help support programs that make a difference. Debate education is proven to increase high school graduation rates and achievement in both middle and high school. In a 2023 study on the impact of debate, a Harvard researcher concluded: “These results provide policymakers a rare promising program for reducing inequality in reading achievement, analytical thinking skills, and educational attainment among middle and high school students. Debate programs are cost-effective relative to other high-profile interventions and therefore have great potential for scalability.” BAUDL’s experience confirms these results—from 2020–2023, 100% of BAUDL seniors have graduated from high school. Your donation will support those students who most need it. BAUDL teams represent the diversity of the Bay Area. 80% of BAUDL students are people color, and 100% of them are students hailing from under-resourced public schools that don’t have the educational backing that most national debate teams do. In the words of Supreme Court’s first Black woman justice, Dr. Ketanji Brown Jackson: “[Through debate], I learned how to reason and how to write and I gained the self-confidence that can sometimes be quite difficult for women and minorities to learn at an early age.” With your help, BAUDL can reach more Bay Area youth, continue to offer critical educational interventions in schools that need us most, and increase the representation of Black and brown students in national debate. In the words of my student, Genesis, “[Attending Nationals] was life changing for me. I come from a place where my friends and I had to stop dreaming and settle with working low jobs. I didn’t even think college was an option for me because I can’t afford law school. However, nationals gave me back my dream of becoming a person who makes the changes others are afraid to do.” BAUDL’s work is making a difference in the lives of young people and is hoping to raise $65,000 for 2024 programming. I gave $40, can you match me? Donate online at baudl.org/donate-to-baudl. Also, follow BAUDL on Facebook and LinkedIn @BayAreaUrbanDebateLeague and on Instagram @BayAreaDebate.

Financial assistance, accessibility, or other relevant resources needed to balance life outside education are barriers for students looking to take the next step after community college. Prosperity Denver Fund partners with other nonprofits to increase the number of historically underserved Denver students who access scholarships, complete a postsecondary degree, and strengthen the local economy. Learn how the state of Colorado is working to close the gap while students are still in high school: https://buff.ly/49MwVjv #denvernonprofit #coloradononprofit #nonprofitresources #philanthropy #denvernonprofit #scholarships #scholarshipfund #highereducation #highereducationleadership #ProsperityInEducation #EducationMatters #AffordableEducationDenver #ScholarshipsForSuccessDenver
