Create Win-Wind Solutions: An Team Member's Perspective Bryan G., Biomed Supervisor, was recently asked to share his thoughts on company fundamental "Create Win/Win Solutions." Bryan G. shares that reaching these win/win solutions are usually a result of sharing a common purpose and a commitment to finding the best outcome. "Win-win solutions in everything we do, both at work and in our personal lives. After all, who wants to lose? However, winning isn't always easy—it requires hard work, perseverance, and often, overcoming challenging and bitter moments. In our line of work, we face difficult situations and interact with a diverse range of people every day. It's inevitable that we won't always be on the same page. But despite these differences, we come together with a common purpose: taking care of our patients. Achieving win-win solutions means picking ourselves up after setbacks, staying on task, and continuously seeking the best outcomes for everyone involved. It’s in these moments of challenge that we find opportunities for growth and improvement. There is a profound sense of accomplishment in knowing that the work we do, even if it seems mundane to us, can have a significant impact on the lives of others. What might not seem very important to us is incredibly important to someone else. Let's continue to strive for these win-win outcomes, supporting each other and our patients with dedication and compassion." Get to know Bryan G.: "I began my journey with Barnes in 2021 as a Biomed Technician, and at the beginning of this year, I transitioned to the role of Biomed Supervisor. I'm grateful for the opportunity to grow with Barnes and excited about the future and my ongoing contributions to our team's success. Outside of work, I have a beautiful wife, a daughter, a son, and a dog. They keep my hands full, but I wouldn't have it any other way. In my free time, I enjoy watching NBA games—Go Celtics!—as well as fishing, grilling and playing the guitar." #BarnesHealthcare #WinWin #Solutions #EmployeeVoice

Nurse Career Coach | Podcaster | Freelance Nurse Writer | Keynote Speaker - I support nurses and healthcare professionals in creating inspired lives and careers!
In my latest post over on the Glassdoor healthcare "bowl"/community, I pose the following query, and I'd love to hear your responses: When you were in school preparing for a career in healthcare, you probably had a vision of what you wanted to do and the kind of healthcare provider you wanted to be. Sometimes our visions of what we think our career will look like can be significantly different from the eventual reality of our lives. If you can remember back to being in school, what did you think you were going to do, and how different did your career end up being from that original vision? https://lnkd.in/gGtemipH

This post is for me 2 years ago. A doctor unsure of where to go next. You’re not wrong for wanting more from your career. You’re not alone in feeling the way you do about the career you chose. You’re not a cog for someones wheel and your options are not limited. You have a lot more to offer than just being a clinician. You have a whole army of people who are ready to support you and help you. I write this post not only for me, but for every hard working doctor that currently feels the way I once did. Your training may not have prepared you for the world we live in today and that is a failure of our training system, not you. You were taught to believe you should only focus on your training and to leave the rest for someone else. Unfortunately, this has left many doctors feeling a weird type of way about medicine as a whole. As we build matchday, our mission is to offer our entire community the added support and tools to map out a path to a more fulfilling career. I’m so grateful to get to serve over 300 doctors in our community today. While we are just getting started on our mission I hope we can serve 100,000 doctors over the next 5 years. Finding their dream jobs, finding connection, finding support. If you’re looking for the next steps in your career, whether that be full-time, part-time or a new industry opportunity. We will take the time to listen and help carve out a path for you. You can learn more by visiting us at

LinkedIn Top Voice Healthcare Management '24 | Revenue Cycle Consultant and Trainer | Strategic Board Advisor | Award Winning AI Consultant and Trainer | Guru in Clinical Documentation, Denials and Appeals
This story made for a great discussion recently so I thought I would share. At 27, I transitioned from FT coding to a Medical Staff Coordinator at a small facility; about 140 beds, marking the beginning of an incredible ride. Back then, my job was like a puzzle, full of challenges and opportunities. I served as the crucial link between departments, hospital leadership, medical staff, department chiefs, and the physician executive board chair. Little did I know that the trust they placed in me would become a cornerstone of my career. My daily tasks involved physician meetings, credentialing, privileging, and building strong relationships. The CEO liked that I was good at analyzing industry trends, dealing with data, and forecasting early on as I have done for many since that time. I call it seeing the future. But it wasn't all smooth sailing. I quickly learned the art of not taking things personally, especially during heated board meetings or when addressing concerns from passionate physicians. My role also entailed tasks like ensuring safety, compliance, and evaluating risk. Remember, I did say small hospital. As I look back, I'm grateful for every twist and turn in that journey. Those early experiences were the building blocks of my professional growth. It wasn't about climbing the career ladder; it was about embracing challenges and turning them into opportunities to learn and improve. My next challenge came when a colleague called me to start a Health Information Technology program and I interviewed and accepted. Recently, I had the privilege of sharing these experiences with a group of remarkable students. I spoke about how this role transformed me into the leader I am today and offered them guidance on navigating their own career paths. I continue to draw upon these experiences to better myself and support others as they embark on their career journeys. Reflecting on my path from a Medical Staff Coordinator to where I am today, I'm filled with gratitude for the lessons, the ups and downs, and the continuous growth. It serves as a reminder that our careers are ever evolving, and it's the challenges that mold us into the professionals we become. Here's to the journey, the growth, and the unwavering commitment to becoming the best version of ourselves. #ProfessionalGrowth #Leadership #CareerJourney #LifeLessons #upskillzyourlife
