Transform livestock emissions into sustainable fertilizers At TRANSfarm KU Leuven, the experimental farm of the KU Leuven a new type of air scrubber is being installed and tested. It is an installation with a revolutionary technology that removes 95% of the nitrogen, in the form of ammonia, from the air in the barn. It can be a solution to nitrogen emissions from intensive livestock farming. To remove the nitrogen from the air a sustainable nitric acid is used. This nitric acid produced by the plasma units of VitalFluid B.V. will react with the ammonia into ammonium nitrate. The end product is a fertilizer which can be used in agriculture. GFS Tanks with CSTR and Integrated Membrane System Continuous stirred reactor system referred to as CSTR. By anaerobic activated sludge in the digester to purify organic pollutants, livestock and poultry manure wastewater is put into the tank from the upper or top of the anaerobic tank. After mixing with the original anaerobic activated sludge in the tank, the organic matter in the wastewater is converted into biogas through the adsorption, absorption and biodegradation of anaerobic microorganisms. #reactor #storagetank #storagetanks #bioenergy #sewagetreatmentplant #wastewatertreatment #waterstorage #waterstoragetank #waterstoragetanks #steeltanks #steeltank https://lnkd.in/gqNTVmDd

Biogas could change your farming operations forever. And it all starts with poop. Livestock waste is a natural source of methane, but when it’s not contained, collected, and managed, it’s a hazard instead of a benefit. But with anaerobic digestion, that same manure becomes a valuable renewable fuel source that can heat homes, power appliances, and run shipping fleets. Plus, it’s a new revenue source that helps local farms become more resilient against changing crop, livestock, and dairy markets. Find out how manure and biogas can change your farm’s income model, as well as its environmental impact: https://lnkd.in/grAtb59s #Agriculture #AgriculturalSustainability #ManureDigesters #RNG #RenewableEnergy #RenewableNaturalGas #Circularity #CircularityCenters #ModernFarming #Farming #DairyFarms #Dairy #Poop #Manure #RNGDigesters #BioGas #BrooksConstruction

https://alfa-res.eu/#goals The ALFA project is funded by the EU and aims to establish and accelerate biogas solutions in the livestock sector. In this sense, it has opened a free call to provide comprehensive support to initiatives that want to implement biogas technologies in Spain. The proposal is open to the following profiles: Livestock farmers with biogas plants looking to upgrade them. Livestock farmers interested in installing a biogas system. Biogas plants using manure. Livestock associations. Energy communities. Key actors interested in investing in biogas solutions.

𝐏𝐑𝐎𝐂𝐄𝐒𝐒𝐈𝐍𝐆 𝐀𝐍𝐈𝐌𝐀𝐋 𝐅𝐄𝐄𝐃 𝐅𝐑𝐎𝐌 𝐌𝐀𝐑𝐈𝐍𝐄 𝐀𝐋𝐆𝐀𝐄♻ Turning dead marine algae into a powdered animal feed product is an excellent example of full-circle sustainability. Grinding, mixing and drying of these algae results in a completely natural calcinated seaweed, containing lots of different minerals. This calcinated seaweed is enriched with magnesium oxide and suitable as an organic livestock feed in powder form. The resulting product works as an acid buffer, regulating the acid in a cow's stomach to aid digestion and – in addition to its health benefits – it also reduces the production of methane.
