🦠 𝐇𝐨𝐰 𝐄𝐟𝐟𝐞𝐜𝐭𝐢𝐯𝐞 𝐈𝐬 𝐘𝐨𝐮𝐫 𝐋𝐚𝐮𝐧𝐝𝐫𝐲 𝐃𝐞𝐭𝐞𝐫𝐠𝐞𝐧𝐭 𝐚𝐭 𝐊𝐢𝐥𝐥𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐕𝐢𝐫𝐮𝐬𝐞𝐬?   Researchers at Dr. Brill Partner GmbH Institute for Hygiene and Microbiology aimed to develop a method to test how well laundry detergents eliminate viruses using a lab-scale washing machine- 𝑹𝒐𝒕𝒂𝒘𝒂𝒔𝒉. 🔬 𝐊𝐞𝐲 𝐅𝐢𝐧𝐝𝐢𝐧𝐠𝐬  ‣ 𝐕𝐢𝐫𝐮𝐬 𝐑𝐞𝐜𝐨𝐯𝐞𝐫𝐲: MNV & MVA viruses were effectively recovered after drying & washing while BCoV showed lower recovery, making it less useful for testing. ‣ 𝐃𝐞𝐭𝐞𝐫𝐠𝐞𝐧𝐭 𝐄𝐟𝐟𝐞𝐜𝐭𝐢𝐯𝐞𝐧𝐞𝐬𝐬: Bleach-free detergents were less effective against MNV, similar to regular washing machines. ‣ 𝐖𝐚𝐬𝐡𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐌𝐞𝐜𝐡𝐚𝐧𝐢𝐜𝐬: Rotawash washes greatly reduced virus levels, highlighting the importance of washing mechanics. 👥 𝐀𝐮𝐭𝐡𝐨𝐫𝐬: Justyna E Konkol, Britta Becker, Dajana Paulmann, Eike Steinmann, Daniel Todt, Toni L Meister, Stefan Evers, Mirko W., Andreas Dotzauer, Dr. Florian H. to be honest, for my privat laundry I do not need a virus killing method. I use chestnuts, ivy and normal vineagar. My laundary is clean an fresh. Also, me and my family have working immune systems and we want to train it. It might be more important for hospitals and retirement homes. 😀
