Agricultural production in times of crisis – how can #EO help to get valuable insights when data from fields cannot be gathered at site? 🛰️🌾 At the #EO4Agri2024 workshop, hosted by the European Space Agency - ESA our colleague Solveig Blöcher presented "Resilience under Extreme Circumstances – Harvest and Yield Estimation for Ukraine." This vital work highlights the incredible resilience of Ukrainian agriculture amidst challenging conditions and how earth observation based solutions can help to gather important information without at-site input. Solveig's presentation delved into advanced methods for estimating yields and harvests, showcasing the importance of accurate agricultural data in times of crisis. The presentation also offered a glimpse into the future with the STELAR Project. By leveraging Knowledge Lakes, STELAR aims to enhance yield predictions with unprecedented precision. This innovative approach promises to transform agricultural forecasting, providing critical insights and support for farmers worldwide. We are dedicated to further exploring the cutting-edge of agricultural technology and resilience. 😎 🌱💡 #SustainableFarming #yieldprediction #AgInnovation #STELARProject

Guess who tops our rankings, Reykjavik? At Spheric Research we grinded the numbers on four years of project data to come up with a points system that shows where land-based aquaculture projects are advancing the most. My talk at this week's RAStech Magazine event in Charlotte, North Carolina will show which regions are doing the best at building RAS and land-based aquaculture projects. A common thread among winners is the willingness of local investors and domestic lenders to back local projects. The data, available in our annual report, provides a breakdown at the country level and can even be analyzed for production systems (full salmon RAS vs hybrid flow through, for example)
Spheric Research will unveil a points system that shows how much progress has been made in developing land-based projects around the world, at the RAStech Magazine event starting in Charlotte, North Carolina, tomorrow. The index has been generated from Spheric Research’s project database starting in 2020, and based on over 370 data points. The Land-based Aquaculture Report will show indices for individual countries and different types of production systems (full RAS, hybrid flow through systems). It was another successful year for us and the agricultural industry at large. Yevul Info gives thanks to this ancient human practice that we’re helping evolve. Take a look at just how far we’ve come: Neolithic Era: The dawn of agriculture with the transition to farming (~10,000 BC). Ancient Civilizations: Flourishing of agriculture in river valleys with staple crops and animal domestication (~3,000 BC). Classical Antiquity: Advancements in tools and techniques in Greece and Rome. Middle Ages: Spread and improvement of European farming; introduction of the three-field system and heavy plough. Agricultural Revolution: Significant farming method innovations including crop rotation and mechanization (17th-19th Century). Industrial Revolution: Introduction of machinery, leading to large-scale agriculture (18th-19th Century). Green Revolution: Innovation era with high-yielding cereal grains and modern management techniques (mid-20th Century). Modern Era: Emergence of biotechnology, genetic engineering, and precision agriculture with a focus on sustainability. Yevul Info: The next step in the agricultural evolution of fertigation – redefining the future with AI-driven solutions. From the first seed sown to today's AI-driven farming. Agriculture continuously evolves & shapes our world. We're proud to be part of this ever-growing legacy. #AgriculturalEvolution #FarmingHistory #SustainableAgriculture #AgriTechInnovation #YevulInfo
