Just lovely to watch this video from my ex-colleague Kingsley Johnson. For two reasons: (i) Kingsley's business has been going from strength to strength and this video shows you why; and (ii) I wholeheartedly agree with Kingsley's contention that businesses have much to learn from Gareth's leadership style. Gareth was kind enough to write the Foreword for my book Staying the Distance: The Lessons From Sport That Business Leaders Have Been Missing. The book, which came out last year, has been (as expected and hoped) a big hit with business leaders with endorsements from hugely respected business people such as Richard Harpin Debbie Wosskow, OBE and bulk buys for leadership teams from a number of organisations including the Bank of England. Along with endorsements from a wonderful collection of senior leaders and coaches in the world of sport including Baroness Sue Campbell, Maggie Alphonsi MBE Stuart Lancaster and Stephanie Hilborne the book has also (perhaps more surprisingly) apparently been a hit amongst friends of my children - aged between 19 and 23. Something about getting the insight and advice early in their career I think (or more just curiosity about their mate's Mum writing a book??)
