🇺🇸 Visiting Angels at Gino Merli Veterans Center had an amazing time connecting with veterans! 🇺🇸 We had the privilege of chatting with our veterans and sharing information about Visiting Angels' services. It was truly inspiring to hear their stories and discuss how we can support them and their families. Thank you to everyone who stopped by and shared their time with us. We look forward to continuing to serve our veterans and provide compassionate care when needed most.

IF YOU ARE A COMBAT VETERAN, PLEASE READ THIS! A few months ago, we posted a poll asking why you (the combat veteran) have not joined the Veterans of Foreign Wars. The most common answer was because of a lack of interest. Here is what you are not interested in: 1. Camaraderie. We all have a common experience with a common mentality. Sometimes it feels hard to fit in in this world. When we get together as comrades, we understand one another and always have each other's six. 2. Continued community service. We don't carry rifles, jump out of planes, and wear BDUs anymore, but we still have the desire to serve the community we swore to protect. We do this by conducting food drives, scholarship contests, and many other projects. 3. Veteran friendly legislation. Did you know that as long as the VFW has at least 1 million active members, we get to address congress as the VFW. This helps to get legislation such as the PACT Act passed. This is important to veterans and their families. Once we drop below 1 million active members, we are tossed into the heap of thousands of other groups who have to elbow their way to a law maker's office to be heard. 4. A lasting legacy. As long as the VFW exists, there will always be someone to teach our younger generation the meaning of patriotism. There will always be someone to tell them about the sacrifices made by our men and women in uniform to keep this country safe. We are not just a club of veterans who sit around and drink beer while telling war stories. We are more than that. We are a group of men and women who continue to carry the guidon of pride in our nation and hope in our future. Call or text 575-910-1860 for more information.

"Can I buy you a cup of coffee this Veterans Day?" As we recognize Veterans Day, I wanted to take a moment to express my deepest gratitude to all the veterans who have served our country with unwavering dedication and sacrifice. Our veterans have displayed extraordinary courage and commitment, defending the principles and freedoms we hold dear. Today, I'm taking a moment to recognize the courage, sacrifice, and commitment made by so many of my colleagues, customers, community members, friends, and family. This Veterans Day, let's go beyond words of appreciation and put our gratitude into action. Consider a simple yet meaningful gesture that can make a significant difference in a veteran's day. If you see a service member while you are out today or over the weekend, consider buying them a cup of coffee, picking up their tab for a meal or drink, footing the bill for their groceries, or perhaps even just striking up a conversation to show your appreciation. Imagine the impact of a warm cup of coffee on a chilly November morning, a shared meal with a veteran who may be feeling the weight of their service, or just adding some brightness to their day through your recognition of their service. These small acts of kindness can remind our veterans that their sacrifices are remembered and cherished by all of us. #veterans #veteransday2023
