WHAT A SUMMER!!!! Here is what I learned: 1. Working 15 hour days for yourself is very different than working 15 hour days for someone else. 😉 2. Traveling non-stop is a privilege but don't deny the exhaustion that comes with not sleeping in your own bed. It takes time to recover from that. 3. Ask for the business! Genuinely - people want to help other people. Don't be afraid to ask. 4. Watching your 21 year old "kicking through glass ceilings" and winning a professional women's football (WFA) national championship while living out her dreams to promote women and sports is a really good way to spend a summer. 5. Coming to the realization that it's time to hire again. Priceless. We begin interviewing for a medical expert witness coordinator next week! Come join us!

Happy Mother’s Day (UK) to all the amazing mums amongst us! I’ll take this opportunity to mention that, from personal experience, balancing work and motherhood requires effective time management and flexibility. With our exceptional superpower of being able to multi-task, it’s entirely possible to do both roles effectively. One of my favourite parts of being a recruiter is getting mums back into work. They’re so humble and thankful that someone is ‘kind enough’ to give them a chance. Let’s make it even easier to get mums back into work.. Many mums are more determined to prove that can manage this dual-role, and they want to put their brain back into use after months of ‘goo-goo ga-ga’! If you can offer flexible hours, it makes our lives easier to manage and usually does not mean that we only want to work part time hours. Finally, we’re now in 2024 and not 1954 - Let’s do away with antiquated interview questions such as ‘who will collect your kids from school if I give you this job?’ Mums are smart – they know they’ll need to organise something once they get back into work – you don’t need to remind them of this in an interview. 😊

We love this reminder from Ellen Lee to those balancing careers and parenthood. When the madness of summer vacation hits, but your workplace doesn't have a summer break — "give yourself grace," she says. "There's a lot going on!" In this week's URL Media Career Newsletter we share some practical advice from Ellen and from URL's own Melanie H. Figueiredo, plus check out the job searches our recruitment team is leading. How do you balance work and parenting when school's out for the summer? https://lnkd.in/gBUiE5Aa

As we enter into fall and the busyness of the season, remember. Self-care isn't selfish. In fact it's the opposite, only when we take care of ourselves fully, (physically, mentally, emotionally, and spiritually) are we able to take care of and respond to others. Providing space in our lives to participate in self-care allows us to show up as the best versions of ourselves and love others from a place of fullness. Read more about self-care (and why you need it) in our latest blog post. Written by Master's Level Intern, Gray Hernandez!

“Becoming a mother made her rethink her career … so she quit to stay home.” ☝️ This is largely a myth. There are two big issues I have with this statement. The first: that every time a new mother quits her job, she’s quitting to stay home. The second: that the act of becoming a parent fundamentally changes someone’s career vision or ambition in a way that we couldn’t possibly have seen coming before the child arrived. Many women who leave their jobs after having children don’t leave the workforce - they choose to start fresh somewhere else, or go down a completely different career path. And often, they’re doing this not because they were totally shocked by a huge change in ambition or career focus due to the new child… But because welcoming a child gave them the space away from work to finally be honest with themselves about what they really want. In tomorrow’s episode of The False Tradeoff, I talk with Jess Galica about how early motherhood impacts career pivots and other findings from her book: Leap: Why It's Time to Let Go to Get Ahead in Your Career. Business Professional | Unlocking individuals' and organizations' fullest potential by maximizing assets, collaborative efforts, and continuous learning and improvement.
In the content of development, what is the most important asset of the organization? That was the question of my panelist during my oral revalida in 2016. And the answer is employees...knowing the value of people within the organization will help us make better decisions. We shouldn't allow people to feel manipulated or taken for granted. Slavery is such a strong word and it is hard to feel that way. #EmployeeManagement #Loyalty
If they don't appreciate what you bring to the table, then let them eat themselves. Loyalty? Loyalty is supposed to be a two-way street. You should be loyal to your employer, but your employer should also be loyal to you. This means that your employer should provide you with a safe and supportive work environment, and they should offer you opportunities for growth and development. It is important to be loyal to your employer, but it is also important to remember that you have your own needs and interests. You should not let your loyalty to your employer come at the expense of your own well-being. And also, you need to define clearly, are you being loyal or just being comfort? If you are experiencing any quiet quitting signs, it may be time to have a conversation with your manager or to start looking for a new job. I have experienced this before, and I got my job through this link here >> https://lnkd.in/gcgyQvVC. I don't promote it because it's my job. I really got my job here. 🙋♀️
