We continue to celebrate talented and creative women who are driving change in the world with our #FemTechSpotlight ✨ Meet Dr. Einav Bachar MD, a family medicine doctor, and Yael Silbermann Romano, a director of marcom and e-commerce. Together, they are driving change through their podcast, "Full Moon" (in Hebrew “ירח מלא”) providing a platform that empowers women with essential medical knowledge and insights. Their commitment to raising awareness is making significant contributions to the FemTech landscape. 🚀 How is your work related to the FemTech industry? We chose to utilize the power of the digital podcast platform to make reliable medical knowledge accessible, aiming to improve the lives and overall health of women. Over the past three years, we have recorded more than thirty episodes with medical and therapy experts, who are pioneers in their respective fields of research and practice. These individuals' actions and innovations are aimed at improving the health and well-being of their patients. 🚀 What inspired you to venture into the field of FemTech? Both of us come from different professional backgrounds, but we both faced the challenge of addressing gaps in gender health awareness. We were on the lookout for an opportunity to make a difference. When we met and started "Full Moon," it kickstarted our shared vision becoming a reality. Our drive to shake things up in the field was our own initiative, without any outside help. Now, it's a powerful platform that's spreading much-needed information to a wide audience. 🚀 What are the challenges facing the FemTech field from your professional position? Even in 2023, women's rights aren't universally secured, leading to challenges for platforms that promote these rights. Initially, we encountered challenges in securing funding, establishing credibility, and sourcing appropriate resources to communicate our vision. However, as time passed, the awareness surrounding our subject has grown, largely attributed to the active engagement of remarkable women, many of whom belong to the FemTech Israel community. Consequently, a majority of the interviews and concepts now come our way. Our ability to surmount these obstacles can be attributed to our unwavering commitment to delivering high-quality content and the expansive web of relationships we've cultivated throughout the years, primarily within the FemTech sector. Thank you Yael and Einav for making a lasting impact and contributing to a more informed and empowered future for women! Check out the podcast “Full Moon” here >> https://lnkd.in/dW-pyM6M #femtech #genderhealth #awareness

Last night, I attended an incredibly inspiring event in Zürich for International Women's Day called Impact the Future: Shaping the Next Tech Revolution! The event covered a range of important topics including Women in Tech within Switzerland, the bias and lack of representation, personal experiences of the panelists, where the tech revolution is headed, and what we can do to contribute. It was an hour packed full of important conversations and another hour of an apéro that I don't think anyone wanted to end. Some key takeaways: *Women in tech related jobs within Switzerland have only increased 1.9% from 1991 ( 26.8%) to 2023 (28.7%). *The tech revolution is here to stay, and women need to be involved – representation is crucial. *Less women are applying to tech-related jobs – more work needs to go into finding the obstacles in the way. *To not be ignored you have to be heard and to be heard you have to speak. Speak with thoughts backed with facts and data. *Networking, sponsorship, mentorship, and other unwritten rules are important. *Luck can be a big factor, but you can also create your own luck. *Don’t be afraid to ask for help – at the end of the day, we’re all winging it. A huge thank you to the speakers, Diana Affi, Kemeng Zhang, Patricia F., and Gaëlle Andreatta, for sharing their insights and experiences, and the fantastic moderator, Daniella Laureiro Martinez, for leading the conversation. Thank you to the organizers, feMTEC ETH Zurich, Women Techmakers, and Women in Data Science (WiDS) Zurich, for making the magic happen. And also, a big thank you to all the attendees for your openness and new friendship. Again, as a newcomer to Switzerland, I am blown away by the professional and warm reception I’ve received from fellow women in tech. Each event I attend leaves me feeling more and more inspired with what is to come. #InternationalWomensDay #WomenInTech #TechRevolution #Switzerland #Inspiration #RepresentationMatters

ON MATERNITY LEAVE 👩💻 Director of Next Tech Girls | Inspiring and empowering the next generation of women in tech ✨ Women in Tech Excellence Outstanding Returner 2023 | TechWomen100 Winner 2023 #SmashTheStereotype
“Failure is feedback, and feedback is knowledge, and knowledge is power” - Steven Bartlett at yesterday’s Karren Brady's Women in Business & Tech Expo Such a brilliant event! I loved meeting so many women from my network and lots of new people with inspiring stories 🤩 I was overwhelmed to find the keynote theatre packed for my session, with people standing at the back, so I asked everyone to wave for a video at the start 😂 thank you for indulging me! We’ve had almost 70 new role models sign up to volunteer with Next Tech Girls since then! Thank you so much to you all, I can’t wait to get you involved in our work and hear your stories 💜 If you missed it and are interested to learn how you can be the role model you wish you’d had, I’ll be delivering a longer workshop on it at Women of Silicon Roundabout next month with our alumna and role model Naamua Dodoo! You can also read a blog post I wrote on the topic (link in comments) 👇 Steven’s talk was impressive, he’s such a natural speaker and motivator and has a lot of wisdom to share. I especially appreciated his take on failure and how it’s a sign of innovation and an opportunity to keep learning and growing 👏 I also loved hearing Vanessa, Akua, Samantha and Nancy talking about being diagnosed with ADHD in adulthood and how it manifests differently in women. It was especially inspiring to see Samantha holding a stress ball throughout the panel session ❤️ I can’t wait for the next opportunity to meet and learn from more of the women in tech community. It’s such an inspiring place to be! ✨ What’s your favourite tech event?? #WomenInTech #TechEvents #DiaryOfACEO #RoleModels #WIBTE23

Content Designer with MD Anderson on the Data Impact and Governance team. Passionate about AI & data ethics, especially in femtech.
FEMTECH IS NOT NICHE! I've been shouting this for more than half a decade. When is it going to become obvious that innovations and products aimed at over half the population is a huge and viable sector, not some marginal interest group? Yes to all of this from Vanessa Julia Carpenter, PhD. Also, continuing to view femtech as niche also sets it up for minimal oversight, safety, and broader ethical concerns. I saw that firsthand in the parenting tech space and it's an issue in AI-based wearables and ARTs already. Okay, so who else will shout this out this week? #femtech #womenshealth #womenintech #ethicaltech #womenshealthmatters #femalehealth #diversityintech
Keynote Speaker and Design Consultant | Member of the Danish Design Council | Expert at IDA: The Danish Society of Engineers | Femtech Innovator | 20 Years Experience in Emerging Technologies & Design
This week I have been told that femtech is niche. The same week that: (Links in comments) ⭐ Frederikke Antonie Schmidt wrote this fabulous post about 'diversity' in digital development (read: women's health in digital development and daily activities!) ⭐ President Biden announces the first-ever White House Initiative on Women's Health Research. The White House (very interesting - how long did this take - and WHY don't we have it in Denmark?!) ⭐ Paula Gould does an amazing job with the Nordic Women in Tech Awards in Reykjavik and writes a passionate post about the inclusion of women and how they contributed to the making of this event. ⭐ We at Kintsugi Design host a Femtech Workshop with FabLab RUC (with RUC Innovation) and imagine new devices and future worlds and societies which celebrate and respect (and research, and fund!) women's health as part of our "Speculative Uterus" work. Femtech is NOT niche. Femtech is half the world's population getting the research, products, services, treatments and attention they need to live healthy lives. It's about finally paying attention to the half of the population which has been a 'medical mystery' full of hysteria for centuries and figuring out that actually, we are just functioning human bodies which need healthcare too. And femtech is making waves worldwide, with billions(!) of dollars being invested in this space. So... Scandinavia/Nordics, are you ready? Is it finally time? You talk a mean equality talk, but it's time to sissy that walk. Let's do this. 💪 #femtech #equality #healthcare #speculativedesign #design #danmark
