Build the right PRODUCT, for the right USER, in the right ENVIRONMENT! 2. Don't obsess about early valuations - build your plan to full product realization. 3. Today's increasing focus on entrepreneurship, health equity, and the underlying social factors influencing health highlights alarming disparities. Specifically, aspiring physicians and healthcare entrepreneurs of color encounter significant challenges in obtaining necessary support. Less than 6% of physicians are Black and Latino/as, with barriers to advanced education likely being a primary factor. Moreover, a recent McKinsey & Company report unveiled that Black and Latinx founders in the US received only 1% and 1.5% of total VC funding, respectively. Latino/a and Black female founders fared even worse, with a scant 0.1% of all VC investments. Our gathering aims not merely to call attention to these inequities but to actively respond to them, seeking to foster change in the landscape. We have organized this event to offer leaders of color a platform to connect, collaborate, and make a positive impact in the community. This initiative is part of a broader movement toward justice, inclusion, and innovation in the healthcare sector. Our goal is to move beyond mere representation and tokenism, encouraging genuine engagement and fostering a vibrant, diverse community.
