With ongoing real estate developments and the upcoming beltway expansion that will completely encircle Denver, the section is poised for increased traffic, promising increased revenues for years to come. One of the major advantages of this acquisition is the remaining duration of the concession, which runs until 2106. With 83 years remaining, it is the longest duration in the highway sector in the United States, offering VINCI stability. and exceptional long-term financial visibility. VINCI Highways does not intend to rest on its laurels. The company plans to use its experience acquired in other projects in the United States to optimize the management of Northwest Parkway. The objective? Improve the user experience and journey reliability through innovations such as variable tolling, while reinternalizing certain services to reduce costs. In line with its global strategy, VINCI Highways is also deploying its environmental ambitions on the Northwest Parkway. VINCI Highways has signed an agreement for the acquisition of the company holding the concession contract of Denver’s Northwest Parkway toll road in Colorado, USA. The concession contract lasts until 2106, representing the longest remaining life on the highway concession sector today in the US. Northwest Parkway section has been in service since 2003 and notably serves as a gateway to Denver’s international airport. It generated 7,2 million transactions in 2023, up 6% compared to 2022 and 17% compared to 2021. An all-electronic toll road, this section also offers growth perspectives with the ability to implement variable tolling. Financial closing is scheduled for the second quarter of 2024. This acquisition is VINCI Highways’ first traffic-risk concession in the United States. VINCI Highways also operates, as part of a public-private partnership (availability payment), the Ohio River Bridges project, linking the states of Indiana and Kentucky, as well as free-flow toll service contracts - through its ViaPlus subsidiary - for governmental agencies in Texas and California. The Port of Seattle has allocated $85 million for extending its shore power initiative and starting construction on a maritime startup accelerator in 2024. This investment, part of its latest operating budget, will enhance gangways and shore power compatibility for various vessel types and extend shore power to a third cruise ship berth with a mile-long underwater cable. The maritime capital improvement plan also includes renovating the 109-year-old Ship Supply Building at Fisherman’s Terminal, aiming for the Living Building sustainability standard. The Maritime Innovation Center, scheduled to open in 2025 with a total cost of $32.6 million, will foster collaboration between maritime and technology sectors. The budget also covers repairs and additions to pier infrastructure and industrial space at Terminal 91. Over the next five years, the Port outlines $5.6 billion in capital plans, including major projects at Seattle-Tacoma International Airport and a notable increase in operating revenues and expenses. US High-Speed Rail Map Shows Proposed Routes The first stage of the new network proposed by the USHSR would see construction focused around seven regions, including lines connecting Dallas to San Antonio and Houston, Chicago to Minneapolis and Detroit, and New York City to Washington, D.C. This stage includes the completion of the California High-Speed Rail, a line already under construction that is intended to run between San Francisco and Los Angeles. The US needs to strategically plan for ALL infrastructure projects throughout all regions and sectors. The way to do that is for total funding w/o more deficit spending. 🚄🌟 Future of transportation in Texas! 🚄🌟 The everchanging plans for high-speed rail between Dallas and Fort Worth, as well as between DFW and Houston, are progressing and will lead to faster and more efficient travel options in the state of Texas. When eventually completed, travel between Dallas and Cowtown will take 21 minutes direct, or with a stop in Arlington, 25 minutes. Travel between Dallas and Houston will take 90 minutes.
