What is the Elephant in the Room Movement❓ Who we are ✅The Elephant in the Room Movement is a transformative mental health awareness campaign that seeks to revolutionise the way we address and support the mental well-being of our nation. ✅The movement aims to challenge mental health stigma and promote discussion and media engagement by bringing business, arts and community together to create amazing public art and awareness campaigns. ✅This powerful and transformative movement is taking shape in #Ireland, led by the visionary Brent Pope a former professional rugby player, coach, analyst, and prominent media personality. AIN'T NO MOUNTAIN HIGH ENOUGH! On Saturday 17th August, 2 of the team from So Fresh & So Clean UK Ltd, will take on mount Snowdon, in the first fundraiser for MoreSo - Clean Beginnings. Laura Dent and Louise Muir-Sage have decided to scale the highest peak in Wales, to raise awareness of the new charity which aims to provide individuals in the community living in unsafe conditions with deep home cleaning services. This will then allow those who need support to have a safe place to focus on recovery or treatment. This includes but is not limited to those with: Chronic Mental Health Issues Post-Partum Depression Chronic Illness (i.e. Cancer, Auto-Immune Disorder, Diabetes) Disability (Long or Short Term) Every day, hundreds of members of our community live in less than ideal conditions. Whether it be mental health, a chronic illness, or a long term disability, some individuals aren’t able to maintain their homes. When this is the case, their homes can become a prison. Everyone should be entitled to the safe and healthy space they may need to focus on treatment or recovery. That’s where we intend to come in. By giving them a clean home and access to other community resources, these people- our neighbours, our friends, our family- can have the chance to not just survive but thrive. To help change this, I committed to running 2 miles every day for a year to raise both awareness and funds for men's mental health, dismantle the stigma, and showcase the incredible benefits of exercise. We may all know someone who is experiencing a drug or alcohol problem.  Imagine what it is like for the families and the non-using partner? In the UK there are 5 million families making difficult decisions and facing situations that many of us take for granted: leaving children alone with a partner; keeping peace at mealtimes; explaining absences at important events and celebrations and many more… And then imagine having no-one to share your problems with. Adfam is there for those non-using partners and overlooked families. The leading national charity for families affected by substance misuse, Adfam gives a voice to the 5 million families who would otherwise be neglected and forgotten. Adfam focuses on the family members providing vital support for the ‘ghosts’ who live in the shadow of each addict, every single day, with no voice and no help. It provides vital support through frontline services for those forgotten people to improve their own physical and mental wellbeing, alongside the recovery process for the drinker or user. November is Men’s Health Awareness Month. The time of year that brings awareness and support to a wide variety of men’s health issues – both mental and physical. 👉 ONS figures show that around 75% of registered suicide deaths in the UK were men. 👉Every week, 125 men in the UK take their own lives. 👉On average, men die 4.5 years earlier than women from largely preventable illnesses. This month, some of our consultants are taking part in the Movember challenge to help raise awareness and treating us to their best Tom Selleck impersonations. Here is how several of them are getting on so far: Nathan Lysons, Ashley W., Chris Chadderton, Callum Horridge, James Robinson, Dave Russell, and Jack Barnes. Stephen Warne couldn’t be here for our first photo shoot, so we will be sure to keep you updated throughout the month. No one can have it together 24/7 and be feeling 10/10 at all times. It doesn't matter if you've hit a particularly rough patch or have been sitting under the same dark clouds for longer - you matter to more people and in more ways than you know.
