In other developments, Flutterwave temporarily suspends operations of Disha, a Nigerian-based platform supporting creators in marketing and payments which it acquired a couple of years ago. Meanwhile, South Africa's Buy Now, Pay Later (BNPL) market is on a rapid ascent, with Ken Research's "South Africa Buy Now, Pay Later Market" report forecasting a remarkable 14.8% CAGR. Week 16 of building a $1m fintech in East Africa. If I had to describe the past week, I would use the phrase, wild oscillations. I will keep it relatively short. 1.We completed our alx_africa Venture program & pitched to Fred Swaniker.  2.Did our first exhibition. 3.Got both our laptop & Ipad stolen. 4. Began integrations for a new USSD product. 5.Celebrated my birthday . 6.Worked on our core product offering after listening to Hooked by Nir Eyal Product update, At Pebla we are constantly asking ourselves how we can build a product that is adpative, proactive and reactive and after listening to Hooked it was clear our core offering had to touch all the various aspects of the hooked framework , being aware of the initial trigger and inducing it , getting users to invest in the app by providing data that would improve their overall experience, Providing a variable reward and simplifying the action required to achieve their goals. I am curious to know what features you think we implemented to ensure ,we built a habit-forming product 🤔?.  This week at Pebla we( Jean Quarcoopome ,Christopher Kuzagbe & Tuyishimire Neza David) are gearing up for our IOS release and fixing bugs our users came across in the Android app. Turns out one of our bugs was actually a feature for our Merchant app lol 😂 . #blackpm #Afrotech #Africanfintech #CMUAfrica

Hurray, FSI is 4 years old! The journey so far had been an adventure, unearthing insights, talent mines in tertiary institutions and providing technical support to startups especially in the financial services ecosystem. We would like to thank all our institutional partners and board for making this journey worthwhile. We are grateful to God for how far he has brought us. We grew from 0 to 8300 members, comprising individuals, corporations and students, and our spread today is across 5 continents hosting 45 foreign members, and an innovation sandbox with over 375 API endpoints from 18 partners.
