🙏 Thank You to Inside Out Wellbeing for our 3 day workshop experience🌟 From the very beginning, it was evident the workshop was meticulously designed to challenge us, broaden our perspectives, and encourage self-reflection. They created a safe and inclusive space for open dialogue, allowing us to engage in meaningful conversations. The collective wisdom and shared experiences of HM Inspectorate of Probation nurtured an environment where we could learn from one another and grow together. With a focus on enhancing our understanding of cultural competence and cultural humility, I believe the workshop has had profound impact.Through engaging discussions and interactive exercises, we were challenged to examine our own biases, assumptions, and privilege. They emphasized the importance of cultural competence; developing the knowledge, skills, and attitudes necessary to effectively engage with individuals from diverse cultural backgrounds. This understanding is vital in our work as it allows us to engage with others in a way that is respectful, inclusive, and understanding of their unique circumstances. Moreover, the workshop emphasized the importance of approaching our interactions with cultural humility, acknowledging that there is always more to learn and understand about different cultures and experiences. It encourages us to be open-minded, curious, and willing to listen and learn from others. This approach is invaluable in our work of assessing and supporting individuals in youth services and probation services, as it fosters a safe and inclusive environment where people feel understood and respected.

The culture of Spanish Fork Fire and EMS is very family-like. All the crew members are super close and get along really well. Of course there's minor issues and small fights and things, but overall everyone is really close and they trust each other a lot. That level of trust is really important in their field especially because you have to trust your coworkers to do the right thing in an emergency. It's been really cool to see that trust come through in the way they treat and joke with each other. It's like one big family. #nebointerns #utahcteinternships #internships #shhsinterns https://lnkd.in/g64kZhkn

Just because you've never seen it doesn't mean it doesn't exist, right? Everywhere I go, at least one person has a First Aid story. Just last week, two men standing within 5 feet of each other told me about the time they'd had to perform CPR. One in a restaurant, one mountain biking. Same room, same highly unlikely situation. Or is it? I've had three fainters during the blood-related topics on my courses in the last 4 months. Usually just after we've discussed fainting, as it goes. Fascinating. Doesn't half help the delegates put things in perspective: these things DO happen, it IS real, you won't always have a First Aid trainer in the room to bark orders at you and get your brain in gear. We tend to have a discussion afterwards about what the delegates would have done if I hadn't been there to take charge (let's be fair, it's really not the time for me to be treating the situation as a case study, now is it. We'll talk about it afterwards, once my guy is feeling better). They're often pretty shaken. It can go both ways - sometimes people are terrified by it all and I have to work super hard to build their confidence back up - sometimes they're glad to have seen the reality and have a better understanding of how their own body might react when they're frightened. You see, the way I reckon it, I'd rather have at least a vague idea of the priorities if someone's body is being a dick to them or they've fallen off something or...whatever. I'd rather a bit of knowledge to fall back on than absolutely none. Wouldn't you? #FirstAidTraining #FirstAid #Emergency #Itllneverhappen #Whatif
