What #telehealth or #virtualcare services receive #reimbursement from #healthinsurance? The answer still has more state by state and plan by plan variation than would be preferable. That variation only increases when looking at each form of #Medicaid. From one perspective, it can be expected because every state gets to set its own special terms and will keep an eye on the financing of the program since it impacts state #budgets. However, creating disparities in coverage, which arguably impact less well off #patient populations, further complicates weaving these forms of care delivery into the care continuum and creates more opportunities for friction. A Senate measure would make COVID-era telehealth flexibility permanent, removing all geographic restrictions on such services and expanding originating sites to include a patient’s home and certain clinical sites, among other provisions. 90 million people in the US are on #Medicaid. That's ~1/3 of the US population. A LOT OF PEOPLE! Redetermining the eligibility of each one...that's a HUUUUUGE EFFORT. Now that federal rules requiring #medicaid recipients to keep their benefits has expired, redetermination was postponed during covid, even if their income increased, health plans are having to redetermine the eligibility of each recipient to determine if they still qualify. 2 Questions.... 1) How much does it cost to contact all those people? 2) How do you contact all those people? Well... Masshealth Enrollment Center, has 2.4M Medicaid members. They are spending $11mm to redetermine the eligibility of their members. One-way they are doing this is by going 🚪 -to- 🚪 . In 2 months they were able to touch 260k doors and 55k people. That's a herculean effort, requiring a lot of time and expense, and maybe required. However, sometimes there are alternatives that just may be able to do a lot of the heavy lifting. In < 3 weeks a top #medicaidpayer, was able to contact 6x times as many people to... a) #digitally educate them on #redetermination b) gather member information c) Ushur them through the actual #redetermination process They leveraged Ushur's purpose built solution for #medicaidredetermination This is just 1 of N examples on how Ushur automates #memberexperiences to drive #betterhealthoutcomes while lowering the #OpEx and operational effort to do so.
