The two-day workshops held on the sidelines of the Airports Council International (ACI) meetings, conference and exhibition discussed the role of technology in enabling sustainable airport operations and smart airports in a sustainable manner. It was discussed how smart airports can provide many benefits that traditional airport management systems cannot provide such as improving efficiency, increasing safety and security, reducing carbon emissions, increasing revenues thanks to advanced technologies based on artificial intelligence-based software in addition to real-time data analytics and overall improvement of airport operations, and taking into account security and safety by providing facial recognition systems, digital identification, and intelligent monitoring to achieve the highest security measures. For passengers and airport staff alike. As well as creating sustainable airports by reducing carbon emissions through the use of energy-saving technologies in the form of smart lighting, heating, ventilation and air conditioning systems and renewable energy sources allowing for less energy consumption, which benefits the environment and also leads to lower operating costs and increased revenues.

Latest news on impact of the expansion of London's Ultra Low Emissions Zone on air pollution. 🛎 Encouraging data: 🔵 Nitrogen oxides (NOX) emissions from cars and vans in outer London are estimated to be 13 per cent and 7 per cent lower compared to a scenario without the ULEZ. 🟠 There has been a saving of 424 tonnes of NOX in outer London. 🟢 PM2.5 exhaust emissions from cars and vans in outer London are estimated to be 20 per cent lower than they would have been had ULEZ not expanded to outer London. I would like to express my big thanks to the organizers of Middle East Rail & Saudi Rail , the German Pavilion, and all friends of customers and partners. It is unexpectedly crowded at the booth on the second day (last day). The tiny fair actually saves a lot of time for us and makes it possible to have an insight exchange. Although it is a pity that no region operator comes, it is still a very successful event for me and DTEC. First of all, we discussed with all the third party planning organizations e.g. big shots of designing, consulting, and construction for the region. From their point of view, wayside monitoring and depot equipment are somehow must-have solutions for those new projects. Although there are not so many local suppliers, operators show their consideration of safety, reliability, and availability of railway transportation. Within our German Pavilion, I am lucky to talk with AXO, the startup of point condition monitoring solution in DB (Oliver von Sperber actually, the prize winner in Railway Forum Berlin 2021), and Track Forward, the data science company who developed data-based wheelset maintenance optimization tools for DB Cargo.Schunk Group Transitsystem, the pantograph technology supplier with innovative solutions of real-time thickness measurement for panto carbon strips. I appreciate the inspiring and fruitful talks with you. Sometimes I even tell myself: “WoW, you would never expect so many possibilities that you can bring just by simple face-to-face conversations if you don’t start to meet in person and talk.” I love rail and the work at present. Also, we see familiar faces from Spain. Thanks for bringing your local channels to DTEC. I feel happy and grateful and seriousness of your trust. Not only the region of MEA. I am happy as well for our team for the Asia Pacific region. Because they finally find a clearer way to develop influence there. The only thing we need is time. The time to figure out the challenges, to work with you together, and wait for the return.  Work for life. Life is good. 🤣
