Sustainability in Action 0.6 Lost time Injuries (LTIFR) per million hours worked. Key elements that have propelled safety improvements at Vesuvius: Targets: We have set a long-term objective to become a zero-accident company, and yearly targets to gradually achieve it. The Group’s 2023 lost time injury frequency rate target was set at <1 per million hours worked. We have outperformed it with 0.6 LTIFR and set ourselves a stretch goal of 0.5 by the end of 2025. Governance: Safety is at the top of the agenda at all our Group Executive Committee and management meetings. All senior managers perform Executive Safety Tours and follow up on improvement requirements. In 2023, they carried out 195 Executive Safety Tours. Leadership: At a Group level, policies and standards are regularly reviewed and refreshed whilst Group safety audits are made against the policies and standards with the close involvement of our site managers. Employee participation in safety leadership: In 2023, on average, 83% of all Vesuvius employees and directly supervised contractors, participated in safety audits every month. We find this to be a key element of our safety performance. Safety Training: We offer our employees more than 40 targeted safety training programmes; a full list of these programmes is on page 136 of our 2023 Sustainability Report. (Link in the comments) Core Safety Rules: We have eight Core Safety Rules that outline our employees’ basic safety responsibilities. These were rolled out across the organisation as the mandated conduct practices. #SustainabilityReport #BetterTommorow #ESG #Safety #casestudy
