"Having a basic understanding of how poor mental health affects our communities can inform the posture and pace at which we work, how we define success, and the importance of collective participation in the process of healing." ✨ In a Stanford Social Innovation Review article, our executive director, Daisy Rosales, and Kelly Davis from Mental Health America explored 4 practical ways to cultivate mental health in our social change world. The first recommendation encourages us to reimagine ourselves as integral parts of the mental health ecosystem, fostering a community of mutual support. 🫂 This can begin simply by learning about the effects of trauma and how best to accompany others; and then familiarizing ourselves with local resources and supports. 🌏 For more insights, please see the full article in the comments below 👇🏽 . As an author, executive coach, speaker, and mental wellness advocate, I help women to shape their career narratives, advance in corporate spaces while avoiding burnout.
Hey - it’s been a little while since I shared a “Hey Sis Let’s Stop”, so I thought I’d share one today. As we approach Mental Health Awareness Month, I am reminded of how many of us as black women don’t take time to care for ourselves - especially mentally. I’ve been just as guilty as anyone else but it almost broke me and I learned, I must prioritize my mental health. So sis, stop putting your mental health off until last. In this edition, let’s talk about the importance of therapy. #mentalhealthawareness #leadermentalhealth #therapyisimportant

In case you forgot...June is Men's Mental Health Month. In our industry, over 85% of the workforce is men. It's important that we acknowledge and support the emotional well-being of men and affirm their worth and humanity. By addressing mental health challenges openly and compassionately, we not only empower men to live fuller, more authentic lives but also create stronger, more resilient communities. It's about breaking down barriers, fostering understanding, and ultimately, ensuring that no one feels alone in their struggle. #menmattertoo #mentalhealthawareness #constructionlivesmatter
