Just had a call with a dear friend in the industry and wanted to share a couple of items, we discussed. He is hiring for a position internally and is going to hire someone from another department that has a cybersecurity degree. A couple of gems inside of this: - I have told many folks that if you want to break into cybersecurity, you have to get very creative and see opportunities where others may not. If you have a skill that you are proficient in outside of cybersecurity, get a position in that field and then look for internal opportunities. - For people hiring, to be able to hire someone that knows company culture is a tremendous advantage. I have seen many situations where people were hired and left soon after because the company culture and values we misaligned. Thanks again "friend" for the talk and insights that I could share here.
