Our ECCE 2023 paper "Large-scale Optimization with 3D FEA Using Online Machine Learning Technique for Axial Flux Machine" that JSOL wrote is now available on IEEE Xplore: https://lnkd.in/gi5jztqu In this paper, large-scale optimization for an axial flux machine with 3D FEA is run using a machine-learning model. Computational optimization is indispensable in designing high-performance machines, but it requires massive FEAs. In the meantime, it is also necessary to account for 3D FEA when designing a machine with higher power density. To investigate the feasibility of 3D optimization, a surrogate model is used to run optimization on an axial flux machine. I am excited to attend #ICTMS2024, present there and exhibit there for two reasons. It will be Barbara Planas, Nelly Franziska Nunheim and my first trip to South Africa, and it is the first bigger exposure to one of #Math2Market's #AdditiveManufacturing capabilities. Namely, modelling the printing process in such a way that mechanical properties can be correctly predicted. Of course, this is gain based on #GeoDict's strengths in 3D image processing, 3D material structure modelling, and 3D material effective property computation.
