Woke up, took care of plant handling matters for the male's chilling in the basement. I'm caretaking for 4 White Rhino dudes until our Minnesota born geneticist makes the move back home from Tahoe. Male cannabis plants (dudes) have a charm to them, but female plants (dudette's) are still my jam.
Checked on my Sweet Tooth and Skittlez germinated babes I popped last week. Soaking seeds in a 1 to 5 part mix for 24 hours in peroxide / distilled water produced nominal results.. 8 of 10 are doing their thing as healthy seedlings.
Dropped off White Rhino and Northern Lights clones to our legacy cultivator who's currently vetting genetics for commercial use. Salivated over his White Truffle genetics ready for a chop / cure.
Convinced our Green Bear Cannabis leadership team we need to take our $500,000 war chest for a microbusiness and ebb / flow the investment into a mezzo. What changed?
A partnership with a(nother) service connected disabled veteran and his similarly situated son. For those keeping score, our leadership team is now at 3 Father / son teams and 2 friends in their 50's with ties going back to college. 4 of us are cannabis criminals, while 3 were honorably discharged from the service as United States Veterans. We also have 1 boy scout who is neither a criminal or a veteran. At least he has experience as a licensed cannabis operator out West.
Additionally, we have an advisory team of licensed cannabis operators from out West with 40 years of experience spread amongst Minnesota born Master Growers / Solventless Manufacturers / and retail operators. That's how we scale properly. Through experience.
"Do it once, do it right," is military rhetoric my veteran father instilled in me as a child. It requires expertise, patience, and forethought. Personally, I prefer chaos, intuition, and assumptions :) But I make it work.
My Dad and I are handling the highly regulated, compliance piece. We have 60 years of combined experience managing ops in red tape industries (nuclear / IT / Healthcare / Law / Nonprofits).
Our cultivation team consists of a father / son duo have been providing First Avenue Musicians HQ Flower since the 90's. Meanwhile, our operations lead fixes the numbers in a financial model he overpaid for online to adapt to the switch from a 5k canopy / 1 retail micro license to a 15k canopy / 3 retail mezzo.
In the micro to mezzo switch, we lose the ability to operate an onsite consumption lounge. The reality is that endorsement is garbage and money better used elsewhere until Minnesota allows for Amsterdam style "coffee shops." Even then, most will lose their ass operating a consumption lounge. Just my opinion, and opinions are like assholes...
The only path you take in this industry that matters is your own. Carve it out. Be vigilant. Keep your passion. Fuck the outside noise. Good luck to all in Minnesota's emerging adult use market. Que Sera, Sera.

With the highest density of livestock in Europe, the Netherlands has been in the throes of a years-long crisis over nitrogen emissions from manure, which ecologists say are destroying the country’s ecosystems.
Mongabay's Ashoka Mukpo breaks this down in a three-part series you can read here: https://lnkd.in/eNTWN7bv
When the Dutch government announced plans to buy out farms close to nature reserves and cut the country’s livestock herd by as much as one-third, farmers revolted, staging massive demonstrations and destabilizing politics in the Netherlands.
The “nitrogen crisis” has become a flash point in Dutch society, raising difficult questions over how to reform unsustainable food systems and offering a preview of what’s to come for other countries as well. WATCH Ashoka's report:
