Skilled, engaged, and diverse workforces do not materialize out of thin air—it takes an all-hands-on-deck approach between parents, educational institutions, educators, legislators, elected officials and the business community, meaning employers. Committed employers play a vital role in the professional development of youth and adults by informing curricula, highlighting career paths, offering career exposure, providing work-based learning, and by utilizing equitable hiring practices.
The Yes, We Tech! summer internship program for rising high school seniors is the perfect solution for #Delaware to develop a workforce with both #technology and #durable skills.
Check out the Last Call for business participation below! Getting to 20 by January 31st is possible for a #techhub.
Last Call for Participation in Yes, We Tech! Deadline has been extended!
The First State Tech Partnership is still securing commitments from businesses in New Castle Co., Delaware to provide work-based learning to rising high school seniors in the Yes, We Tech! summer internship program. Click here to learn more: (https://lnkd.in/eGXZZGvJ).
While Yes, We Tech! has the capacity to serve 30 students, the minimum required to launch a cohort is only 20 students. Presently, five (5) companies have agreed to participate and collectively they can cover 12 interns (Delmarva Power, CSC, WSFS Bank, Code Differently, and Rodel/Tech Council of Delaware). Additional business participation is required to cover at least eight (8) more interns. See attached *Program Overview* for details.
As a Mid-Atlantic #techhub, we believe that #Delaware can launch another cohort of the award-winning Yes, We Tech! program. However, business/employer participation in developing our state’s future workforce is needed to achieve this goal. If your company is interested in participating, please complete this Interest Survey as soon as possible: https://lnkd.in/eDd2rk9n.
