A major step has been reached, our containerized LH2 filling station is on his way to Hamburg Airport. A significant development in reducing emissions and transitioning to more sustainable fuel sources for aviation. The Hydrogen Aviation Lab in Hamburg aims for the design and testing of maintenance and ground-based processes for (liquid) hydrogen technology for aviation. The Lab is a collaboration of Lufthansa Technik, German Aerospace Center (DLR), ZAL Center of Applied Aeronautical Research and Hamburg Airport. The Hydrogen Aviation Lab will be fitted with test systems, an onboard fuel cell and supporting ground-based liquid hydrogen infrastructure to test maintenance and refuelling procedures. ZAL Center of Applied Aeronautical Research has selected Cryoworld BV as partner for the design and manufacturing of the liquid hydrogen supply and storage unit. This unit shall be able to safely store about 100 kg of liquid hydrogen and to supply liquid hydrogen from the storage dewar to fill the aircraft tank. Further, the unit shall allow filling of the storage tank from a standard delivery truck. The scope of Cryoworld includes process, safety and electrical design, the integration in a transportable container and delivery of the instrumentation and control system. #innovation #airports #liquidhydrogen #cryogenics #sustainableaviation #energytransition #Tas Transport #Bertil van Beek

We are ideed super excited about learning and working with liquid hydrogen! It's a very promising fuel for the emissions-free flight not only for aircraft! ✈️🌱 Especially when handling small quantities (~1 to 20 kg) for testing LH2-compatible components and filling long-flight drones as our Liquidrone, there are currently few market-ready solutions available. The storage and supply unit (SVE) of the Hydrogen Aviation Lab (in collaboration with Lufthansa Technik, Deutsches Zentrum für Luft-und Raumfahrt e.V., and Hamburg Airport) offers a great approach for bridging the gap between industry offerings and development needs. 💡🤝 Moreover, the setup provides us with an opportunity to study the long-term behavior of LH2 systems in terms of operation and maintenance (MRO), especially under conditions of high cyclic stress (cold shocks). 🧪❄️ #hydrogen #H2 #liquidhydrogen #LH2

🚀 Have you heard yet? 🌐 Today, we’re proud to share with the world that DANX Group, an innovative leader in time critical logistics services, has made a strategic investment in ELECTRON aerospace. “Sustainability is, of course, the driving force behind our investment in ELECTRON, but the inclusion of the Electron 5 aircraft in our operations will also bring about impressive operational improvements,” said Lars Ryssel, Group Chief Solutions Officer (CSO), DANX Carousel. “The future of short-haul air cargo is battery electric – and working with ELECTRON brings us closer to realising that vision,” said Val M Karren, Sustainability Director, DANX Carousel. Marc-Henry de Jong, CCO/COO Co-Founder of ELECTRON aerospace, said: "Beyond the financial investment, we’re thrilled to crown DANX-Carousel our Founding Logistics Partner.” We’d like to thank Ricarda D'Ham from Kearney, who was instrumental in making this happen by connecting two former alumni, Lars Ryssel from DANX Carousel and our very own Marc-Henry de Jong.
