Exciting news for the SEAMLESS Project! A #f2f workshop regarding the planning of the project’s Norther European Use Case, took place in Kongsberg Maritime’s offices located in Lysaker, Oslo in Norway. The meeting was attended by our colleagues Håvard Nordahl, Lars Andreas Lien Wennersberg, Morten Ingebretsen, Jan Karsten, Kari Hollmén, and Vassilis Podimatas. The Northern European Demonstration Use Case (or DUC1) of SEAMLESS Project is one of the two physical demos the project aims to launch. Its scope entails the highlight of low-attention autonomous fleet operations, automated stowage planning and simulated cargo handling, while providing connection to the hinterland and logistical supply chain support and overview through the integrated offering of #ModalNET. At the request of some customers, we embedded all important European inland water levels in their Smart Vessel Optimizer environment. We started doing that one month ago and did not expect to see such an increase in such a short time. Köln 'grew' from 148cm to 718cm in roughly one month. And now we are at the point where some parts of the Rhine are actually closed to shipping.
