Hiring manager pro-tip: You should dog food your hiring process just like you should be dogfooding your product. This means fake apply to your own role to see the existing process. Then, map out the journey with your internal team and sweat the details. How are you setting up the candidate for success? How are you setting up the panel to reduce their biases? Even in this market, take the time. It's a candidate's first view into how they will be treated and cared for on your team.

Stephanie Mencarelli makes a great point about hiring managers experiencing their own hiring process, but there is more that can and should be done. A manager's experiences will create a disconnect between them and the people interacting with their hiring process. The larger the experience gap, the harder it will be for the manager to recognize pain points. To fix this, they should treat it like other user research. They need to get feedback from the people that went through the process and the people that were blocked by it. The hiring process is shaped by the people that are able to get through it. Without proper user research, those barriers will remain. #hiring #design #userResearch #UX #serviceDesign

Hiring the right talents is paramount for F&B companies for several compelling reasons. Firstly, skilled staff directly impact the quality of products and services. Chefs, waitstaff, and bartenders with expertise enhance customer experiences and bolster reputation. Secondly, efficient operations depend on a competent workforce. A well-hired team reduces turnover, minimizes training costs, and streamlines workflows. This, in turn, improves cost-efficiency and profitability. Furthermore, in the competitive F&B industry, innovation and adaptability are key. The right talents bring fresh ideas, adapt to trends, and foster creativity, allowing businesses to stay relevant and thrive. Lastly, in the age of social media, a single negative customer experience can harm a brand's image. Hiring the right talents ensures consistent, positive interactions that can lead to loyal customers and sustained success.
